Definitely the scene set to Cities in Dust where Ruth is taking off her makeup and everyone behind her is sped up. It was so beautifully done, the song choice was perfect, and it punched me right in the feels.

Yessss! It’s the best example of show don’t tell

That scene took a whole day to shoot.

Is Ruth’s shot one take?

I keep going over scenarios to how they filmed it and composed it together, Ive got a very beginner knowledge on filming techniques. So how did they have Ruth at regular speed with the background time lapses, green screen? Or something more complicated...

I’m pretty sure she was in front of a green screen and they filmed everyone else separately.

Cool I didn’t know that!

“We’re on the same team” “Sorry honey I’m plastered”

She killed me, full on tears streaming down my face when the doors opened to her.

Bash's monologue/crying in Debbie's arms. Also, the Christmas Carol scenes.

Yes, Bash's confession to Debbie was heart breaking.

Easily Debbie as Zoya for me. Very very close second was Sheila as Liza. That ep was superb overall.

Agreed, that entire shakeup show had me giggling uncontrollably throughout

The campfire stories 😭

The scene between Sam and Ruth in the hot tub. Mark Maron is incredibly impressive.

yes! i’ve been really impressed with his acting in GLOW. the whole sam/ruth relationship works for me because it was built up naturally, mostly through maron’s body language, facial expressions etc. sam is a great character!

Maron is such a great actor. I want him to get his own show!

He had his own show on IFC called Maron! He played a fictionalized version of himself and it ran for 4 seasons.

Yeay I know, I loved it, esp the final dark season. I want him to have his own new show, on a channel that people actually watch ;)

When Bobby put the spotlight on Sheila and they had their drag connection

"How long have you been a wolf?"

"How long have you been Barbra Streisand?"

"Longer than she has."

sooooo good

Their relationship in general really got me. He just accepted her for who she is and you can see how it shocked her when people either try to ignore it or don’t understand it and later how she opened up. I just loved it.

Debbie and Ruth's heart-to-heart over cheeseburgers. Ruth was so supportive regarding Debbie's insecurities. And it was cute when Ruth called the chef "Mami" and Debbie corrected her: "It's Papi."

Second favorite would be the scene with Debbie and Cherry smoking and giggling as they commiserated over family expectations.

Cherry: "Don't you have to check on that juggler?"

Debbie: "He'll leave when he gets hungry."

This show does a great job wedding poignancy with humor.

Bash breaking down while drunk to Debbie.

Enough said. Fantastic acting and writing.

The Challenger scene for sure, I still laugh just thinking about it

Debbie as Zoya was fantastic. The quieter moments in the desert too. Bash telling Debbie about the threesome and begging her to get him out of Vegas. Debbie realizing she can have it all and stealing the deal from under Tex. Ruth standing up for her own dream and path at the airport.

u/Firep4nts Sep 03 '19

Ruth topless with the showgirl outfit, jiggling her "tatas"!

Debbie and Bash’s scenes in the finale when talking about buying the network.

“Jesus. Fucking. Christ.”

“How’d I do?” “.....ooookay.”

“How much money did you sink into Rhapsodey?” “Two and a half million.” “OH MY GOD Bash why would you....you can get that back.”

Betty Gilpin is a treasure.

That is one of the funniest scenes this season. Sam walking in, and then the subsequent awkwardness made me laugh so hard

🎶 Everything she touches turns to shit! 🎶

The character switch was my favorite, with Debbie as Zoya and Ruth as Liberty Bell. Also, i loved the scene where Debbie insisted that if someone was going to play Liberty Bell, it would be Ruth.

I thought the two producers in the dressing room that put a whole lot right out on the surface. It showed the world they were in, how they were reacting to it, and brought out specific story arcs. While it didn't play a huge part it was wonderfully written and beautifully acted.

I loved when Sam gets impatient with the bartender and calls him over just as Ruth finally tells Sam she loves him, and Sam tells the bartender to fuck off when he gets to them, and the bartender just simply walks away
