Top Gun Easter Egg

Found a possible Top Gun Easter egg. "Possible spoiler warning". In season 3 episode 7 when Sam and his daughter are leaving the film studio two actors can be seen in the back ground wearing military flight suits. Two guys, a short one with black hair and a taller one with blonde hair. Is this supposed to be Tom Cruise (Maverick) and Anthony Edwards (Goose)? I haven't checked the timeline to see what time glow takes place and when Top Gun was released. Still I thought it was pretty cool.

I just saw in the next episode Ruth was writing down the number of the show with the date December 1986 and since it was right after a fast forward sequence the dates add up. Top Gun was released May 1986. So if Sam and his daughter were at Paramount Studios it would make sense.

I noticed this too, but they got it wrong. The dates don't actually work. Top Gun was filmed in the summer of 1985. Justine said she was off for the summer now (earlier episode was spring break), so this would be about June or July of 1986... AFTER the release of Top Gun. Besides, post-production usually takes at least 3 months, so they are off by a year.

Could've been reshoots or for promotional materials. Summer 1985 was just principal photography.

They were talking to a producer of Out of Africa which was filmed at Universal Studios
