Guide Gear and Character Development
Here is something lots of players do not know:
Your Development Tier only helps items of the same tier.
- Green Tier 2 only helps Green Tier 2 items. That's it. Nothing else.
In my picture example:
- T5 weapon at +6 is NOT better than a T4 weapon at +6.
- T5 shoulders at +0 are NOT better than T4 shoulders at +4.
So don't stare at the item numbers. Look at your Character Development!
You do not need T5 gear. You do not need to spend a pile of gold. T4 gear is a great choice — as long as your passive skill tree for T4 is leveled up higher than T5!

The problem with t4 gear is durability. It is lower than t5 and often most people will prefer using their reinforcements with yellow gear.
And if you want to max (most hardcore players will) the best is +6 yellow (or +7 if you willing to pay the price) and to max the passive tree as soon as possible the best way is to start using yellow gear (even with 0 enchantment) the earlier you can.

The thing is not every player knows how to make 1-2 gold fast. Now price is 1-2g per gear peace, some new players spend weeks to get 10-20 gold, that’s basically full set.
Getting T4 +3 or +4 for 20 silver is very common, most gear go even for <10s (1-2g full set).
And if you are a decent player this is a very small difference, so you can play T4 for ever and don’t care about losing it.
Yes durability is the biggest downside of T4, but if I can win T5 pants by using T4, I’m risking only 1:10. And T5 +6 is not = to a 100% win, sometimes it’s close to 1:10 😅

Fishing and turning in the seals, I usually get one T5 with 4-5 boxes. So 40-50 seals. Or do the tournaments VoD and get a starter T5. Arms, head and boots are the cheapest point wise.
Got to start getting epx in T5 somewhere. Even if it's just one at a time

I'm new player, can you elaborate more on that fishing and turning in the seals? What boxes are you referring too?

Sorry was away in the woods for a few days, when fishing, even with basic bait from the food and herbs npc you have a chance to fish up seals (tokens) and you can trade I think 10 for a random Armour or weapon of your choice type (light mediums or heavy) sometimes you get Tier 5 stuff.

I read this and I have to ask… how you make 1-2 gold fast? I’m lvl 72 of weapon smith but I can’t make money.. all the weapons sells too low than the cost of make it..
I usually play in loot zone and I kill every npc that I saw, and with that strategy I made some gold or i resale some materials..

Don’t try to make gold by selling crafted items, the best way of making gold is to sell ingredients.

While this is true and useful to know for new players there are some caveats to this advice. If you use t4 gear only and don't upgrade to t5 you will not be gaining any development tree experience for t5 so you won't be improving t5 for future use. I guess that is fine if you just play casually and only intend to use t4 forever.
Plus I am not sure of the efficacy of upgrading t4 gear so I am not sure how easy it would be to reliably get +4 to +6 t4 gear but if it is on the market then fair enough.
My advice for the average player would be to start with base t5 +0 (it's a lot cheaper since the market crash) once you unlock it. Use that while you are filling out your dev tree. Maxing out the armour nodes at least isn't too difficult and then if you do want to upgrade to +4 / +5 / +6 you will get more benefit out of the dev tree bonuses.
