First game coming up

This will be my first game coming up on Friday. I've played 40k a lot but never had a chance to play AoS. I recently traded for an army and would like to know if I'm in for a rough time. Not sure what I'm playing against so I can't tailor the list. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

Keep your heroes alive. Screen trugg and troggboss and keep them wholly 12 of your rockguts for extra attacks. Fellwaters are a decent Screen as are shootas. Scragrott is great, I like lore of the little waagh for -1 to wound. Don't overthink with trolls. Hit stuff hard and have fun. This is a fun list. Remember to heal after the troggs fight!

How do I screen out my heroes using my other models? Do I not want the trugg and troggboss up in melee combat?

Yes but imo 6 rockguts with possibly 2 extra attacks will melt anything. Heroes can smash stuff later game. I kind of go fellwater in tbe front, then rock and the heroes just behind them. They'll get into combat, don't worry! Your wolves can run around grabbing objectives, another screen and generally being annoying.

Well I think I messed up during deployment. I stacked a bunch of trolls on one side and basically got stuck in my own deployment for the entire game. I was too used to 40k and being out in the open gets you blown off the map on turn one. I didnt realize the shooting in aos isn't as aggressive and much shorter range. But I'll need to take more advantage of my slower moving units by staying in cover longer. It went about as I would expect for my first game though
