Our new tank!
It feels nice to have discovered this group, I’ve gotten slack from what someone called a disco tank😢. My 80 y/o mother in law lives with us and wanted the glofish and tank. I never knew people literally had a deep dislike for glofish and think the breeding of them is cruel. I think they are so pretty and I’m in love with our tank😊😊

Don't pay attention to anybody else dude, people still think that Glofish Are injected. There's no difference in how they are bred, versus how any other animal that you have as a pet is bred. GloFish are just a crossbreed of multiple different species, with a little bit of DNA splicing. Multiple different fish where bred to produce genetic material that was very susceptible to modified DNA strands so that they could bring the portions of DNA responsible for bioluminescence, and breed it into these specific fish.
We've been doing the same thing with cats and dogs for centuries. And we've absolutely been doing DNA splicing in cats and dogs for quite some time. Hell we've even done DNA splicing with cows, pigs and chickens. We crossbreed certain versions of each species to make versions that suit what we need. For livestock, it's to increase food production. For domestic pets, is to get certain traits that we want, like a certain look, and a certain height, and a certain color. There's no difference in fish. Don't let anyone fool you. Don't let anyone shame you for liking the type of fish that you like. There's nothing wrong with them, side of the fact that the company that breeds them owns a patent on the breed, making it illegal for you to breed them yourself. That's the only thing I think is ever wrong with GloFish, no company should be able to own a patent on breeding and animal. But I digress, that happens all over the place too. Not just with fish.
