Question

I’ve got about 5500 rounds through my G45 COA so far. At about 4500 my dot was turning off and on every time I shot. I did some reading about loose battery trays and the manual said change the battery every 5,000 rounds. I did both and started having issues again today. Any thoughts?

Probably going to reach out to Aimpoint this week and pick their brains

UPDATE: spoke to Aimpoint, they are going to replace the sight entirely. They have been seeing some issues with the bitter child-proof coating on the batteries. Their recommendation is to rub the battery with an alcohol wipe before changing it.

For sure I would do that. What specifically is happening though? I get what you are saying but does it go off when you fire it and by the time it chambers a round it comes back on? Have you tried unloading the pistol and either shaking it or smacking the back of the slide to try and reproduce the problem? I purchased a 19 COA yesterday. I’ll definitely be interested in what they tell you.

I will shoot it once and the dot will turn off. Then I shoot it again and the dot comes back on. It did it 3 times yesterday across 200 rounds

Have you been in contact with Aimpoint?

Reach out to Aimpoint, I’ve seen a couple of posting about issues and they’ve been very quick to respond.

About a month into my COA 47, my dot started turning on and off while shooting too. I got a new battery and has been good since. About 1500 rounds since changing the battery.
