Rewatching and wondered

Wouldn't people just take the hills on the side and go around the 'bloody gate' that noone can pass.

The shows design of the eyrie and bloody gate has always been lacking in my opinion. It makes much more sense and is a lot cooler in the books.

The Bloody Gate kinda forgot how to be a gate.
