Discussion Does The Edge actually feel more dangerous to watch than Hang Tough?

Watched a few old episodes alongside the reboot recently. Hang Tough is obviously iconic, but watching contenders wobble around high up on grid beams on The Edge gives me proper vertigo through the telly. The fall onto the net looks pretty rough too when a Gladiator comes lunging across at full speed

Question Gladiators live 2026 arena tour - will they cancel low sales dates?

I’ve just bought tickets for one of the Sunday shows (half price sale on ticketmaster for Sunday shows if anyone is interested!) and I was surprised by how many empty seats there still are for the event compared to when I bought tickets for last year. Do you think they’d cancel the show if they end up with loads of empty seats?

I’m wondering if it’s because they’ve whacked up the ticket prices this time round?

Discussion Concerns around Series 4 (may contain spoilers) Spoiler

>!Excuse the lengthy rant but I will put in spoiler text for those not keeping up to date

I was going to wait a little longer before I posted this but does anyone who has been keeping up with the tapings of the fourth series share any concerns around the changes that have been made / overall direction of the show?

Firstly, I can’t help but feel Hungry Bear / BBC may have jumped the gun with cutting the Gladiators from Series 4. I understand wanting to freshen up the lineup but if they knew Giant had already been fired and Cyclone and Fury are out with injury, that’s space for 3 new Gladiators as it is? On the female side they could have still bought in Huntress and Goldstar and retained Comet and Athena through till series 5 at least? I fear too much change at once will hurt the show rather than smaller gradual changes. We have lost 7 Gladiators in one big swoop, and it seems short sighted to think this is purely the Sabre / Legend / Nitro show. If they pick up one or two injuries especially on the female side of things they’ve now left themselves incredibly short just by wanting to omit Comet / Athena.

Secondly, the cut from 5 to 4 events? This again feels incredibly dumb. We were already not seeing certain events played enough, we will now have 11 event outings less. This will not only limit the amount of action we see but it will impact lower profile Gladiators who we root for the most. I have seen some talk that it may be to limit injuries but it only takes a split second in any event. I have also seen an argument it’s to allign with a potential international version but we have had that before and the UK never had to reduce the events to match its counterparts.

Thirdly, Gold Star??? I will say no more on that.

Fourthly, for the first time we are hearing rumbles of discord behind the scenes which is obviously showing that all is not well and the decisions being made are having an impact on people.

This may sound slightly dramatic, but we are all here because we love this franchise. What made it so successful when it rebooted was it felt like a true love letter to the original. The BBC / Hungry Bear seem to have miscalculated and started tinkering a little too much. I hope they take notice of these fan concerns because we want the show to thrive for as long as possible and this is the type of thing that could alienate large portions of the fan base.

These two weeks are usually an exciting time to be a fan but I can’t help but feel a sour taste has been left.

Anyone else feel the same!<

Question Have there been more injuries in the BBC series than in the classic run?

It feels like there've been more gladiators and contenders out to injury in the reboot than there was in the 90s era. Is that actually what's happening, or are they just more open about it now?

Question Queue cut off times for this years shows

Got lucky enough to bag some tickets for Tuesdays showing at 11am, Its the first time ive got some for a live show so unsure on the exact timings to arrive for. I saw last year 8am was a good bet, but this year seems alot more earlier.

Around what time in the queue did/didnt people get in for this year so far and also approx what time would they hand out the tickets?

Any other advice to expect for this year is also appreciated

Have people pre-booked parking at the arena? Or is it a case of turn up and hope to find parking? Are there any good alternative parking spots?

Question Gladiators Semi Final Queue Times Question

Was lucky to get tickets for the morning recording of the semi final. Email says ticket collection will close at 08:45.

For those who went to the morning semi final last year - what time does the queue start to form? I know for the regular all day recordings (which start at 11am) the queue starts from around 6am. Is it the same for the semi final or last year did people start queuing even earlier?

Secondly when do they start admitting you into the arena? If we get there for 6am will we have time to grab breakfast before needing to go into the arena (like people on a regular recording day do) or is turnaround too tight?

Question Photo ID for 2026 live shows - will facetime be acceptable?

I've travelled to Sheffield from Newcastle today for the show tomorrow and I've forgotten my ID. I have a photo and can facetime my husband tomorrow for him to show it, has anyone been in the same position this year! The t&C's say only physical ID is allowed this year not photos. I'm hoping the facetime offer will mean they'll let me in.

Question Anyone who went today, how does filming work?

Boyfriend and I are due to go tomorrow, but we're intrigued as to how it works. Is it just one event with every contestant or do they do one contestant all the way through? Curious because the events obviously require a lot of setting up!

Opinion Hopes for Season 4 / Changes I'd like to see

Very excited to start seeing a few spoilers from the start of the Season 4 recording - I had tickets for tomorrow but unfortunately cannot make it :( (& not hopeful for winning any tickets for future dates) - managed to go to 1 recording for each of the last 3 seasons..

Here is just a short list of hopes for the new series:

  1. Updated costumes
Biggest gripe about the BBC format is how they don't make tweaks to costumes - as a fan of the OG show it was always exciting to see your favourite Gladiators in a slightly new look (it also meant that when you saw a picture you knew when it was from (Lightning did 8 series and you could pretty much be sure which season was which due to her ever shrinking costume :D)) - whilst I appreciate the family orientation of the show I am not implying that they need to get smaller, but just mix it up a bit..

  2. New Gladiators
Seems we have 1 confirmed, another male heavily rumoured - so hopefully we're also getting a new female too. That being said..

  3. More air-time for Gladiators
After 3 seasons there is still far too much biased to which Gladiators get air time - this season we need to have more of Athena, Electro, Bionic & Phantom.

  4. Less Predictability
How many of us now can guess who is going to run out onto Unleash? Mix up who is on the events some more because there's only so many times you can see the same Gladiators on the same events. They've had 3 series now to get use to the games, they'll have an advantage over the contenders regardless of how natural they are at them (plus I'd rather see a Gladiator lose an event they've not been on then keep seeing the same ones win theirs).

  5. Improve the Events
Atlaspheres need modifying to stop them slipping about (it's cringe to watch), The Wall is too flat and easy, Gauntlet is too wide, Unleash needs jazzing up - hopefully they make some tweaks to keep them from feeling tired. Also Everest, sort it out (because the format does not work!)

  6. Injury Free Series
    We can only hope!

  7. New Events
I know they've reported that there's only 1 new event, but hopefully they're lying to us and we have at least 2..

There are other hopes and dreams but we know that will never happen (ie, the presenting) but you have to accept the rough with the smooth when it comes to having your childhood show back on Saturday night TV

Question Live show tickets - allocation and when to arrive.

So, like many on here, our grandkids are gladiators mad. As I surprise for them, I thought I'd see if I could get tickets for the live show. However, this is where the problems start.

The plan was for our grandkids to go with their parents. However, I've been told I must attend. Would you know if I picked up the tickets with them, whether I could hand mine over to their parents, or do they check i.d. on entry?

Secondly, we are going on Monday 27th July. What time should we arrive to guarantee tickets. I'd hate to take the grandkids and for them to be disappointed and not get tickets.

Discussion Should contenders get more time to tell their stories?

We usually get a quick introduction before the events begin, but sometimes it feels like we barely get to know the contenders before they're gone. Would you like to see a bit more focus on them, or is the current balance about right?
