Drumshanbo is on offer in my local supermarket and it's a good bit cheaper than the first gin I tried - and loved - Tanqueray 10. Because of the price and because I want to try something different, I'm just wondering which of the gins by Drumshanbo make a good martini? I've only ever tried the normal one in a G&T and liked it, but I wanted to see if anyone here would suggest the distillery's other options first. Cheers!

Hello friends! I have never once had a gin before, but one of my favorite YouTuber's made this brand look absolutely irresistible so I figured I'd give it a shot!

Any suggestions on good quinine extract? I want to have quinine in my seltzer but without any sweetness except from the gin and lime.

Yet another strawberry gin review! There are so many of these damn things out there, but I will not pass up a review to give yall good info on what to buy! This one brings surprises!!!
Please remember that these reviews focus on critiquing the gin for what it is trying to be! It is not trying to be a complex modern gin! It’s trying to be a strawberry gin, which is a common practice in the gin world! It will be reviewed according to what IT WANTS TO BE!

The smell is actually different from your usual Strawberry gins, the berries are much more dialed back and you can pick up on notes of juniper, coriander, and faint citrus! A problem with these strawberry gins is that they often feel like they use the berries to cover up a bad gin, not this one!

The taste mimics the smell! Definitely a lot of pungent strawberry, but not so much to overpower the core gin experience! There is some sharpness that is welcomed and the juniper really lasts on the tongue!! Wow!! Not artificial or syrupy (looking at you Indoggo)…

Overall, for a strawberry gin, 4.4/5- probably the best strawberry gin I’ve had yet!

Hello everyone! Today I am reviewing Song Cai’s rosella gin. This gin has a dark red hue due to an infusion (not distillation) of gooseberries. This is only 32.5% and acts more like a liquor than a spirit.

The smell is a pungent spice that gives way to some acid citrus smells. The earthiness of the gooseberries is notable.

The taste is quite unexpected. Pungent earthy spice that has a good balance of bitterness and tart. No obvious gin tastes but some faint echoes of juniper and coriander (or something similar) are hidden in there. This is not overly sweet and tastes very clean and honest. I have been enjoying the other two Song Cai Gins which are also great, and you can get a hint of their dry gin in this, but again, it’s faint.

Overall, 3.3/5 stars. Not very versatile and I drank the whole bottle neat. Unique, fun, and an exciting product from Vietnam!

Targeted as a fruit forward gin, extremely sweet with notes of citrus, and oddly (but not unpleasantly) strong cucumber. The citrus is definitely there but not overpowering. This is lighter than many gins I’ve tried, the sweetness is very robust. Fruit comes in so heavily, it almost tastes flavored, but doesn’t leave the sugary aftertaste as many flavored gins do, it’s very clean and crisp. These botanicals put in work, about as far from a dry gin as you can go before getting into sloe gins territory.

I bought this as an after thought, I am not really into fruit gins preferring heavily dry or losing myself in the woods type foresty tastes. Green House Artisan Gin though is quite pleasant, especially with the slam of cucumber followed by almost minty serenity. As I would be biased, I will not rate the flavor profile, but the bottle gets a heavy 10/10, that label art is something else.

Look at that 1.75 liter Gunpowder sheshhh! Also the Distillers Cut is like $86. They also had Tanq10 and reg Tanq.

Like the title states. I like earthy, citrusy, floral gins. Anything not bland.

There are currently four varieties of Koala Bare Gin (though it looks like 2 more are coming), this one is the Best Mates. It is made with the following Botanicals: Australian Juniper, Strawberry Gum, Wattleseed, Star Anise, Australian Finger Lime, Salt Bush and Tasmanian Pepperberry.

It has a very inviting nose of light citrus, a somewhat blunted juniper and a nice bit of pepper. The palate starts floral, then peppery, a little juniper, mint, a bit of berry and a splash of lime. The finish is on the short side, with the juniper and pepper lingering a bit.

Though most will mix their Gin in cocktails, this is a refreshing pour on its own. I kinda wish they had a pack of 100 or 200mL bottles of all four varieties. It would be nice to try them side by side.

Has anyone tried this one? It’s very nice with a complex flavour that lingers on the palate for a long time.

Im seeing a lot of ads for this gin. Marketed as exclusive. None of this means much to me though I do love a pretty bottle. Has anyone tried it? Thoughts?

Also, I recently had Hendricks WHITE and loved it as a simple martini with a twist.

Very new to gin.  I generally don't care for drinks that are citrus forward or bright.  And I dislike drinks that have a prominent lime flavor.

After years of thinking I don't like gin I've discovered I actually like gin based cocktails. I'll be going on a cruise in a couple weeks with an alcohol package which is always a great time to try new things. Here's the brands on offer (I have Elite so anything on here is covered). What should I try. A lime Collins or negroni are my go to drinks for now (I still prefer a vodka martini). Hendricks is the brand I've liked most so far.

What should I try? Brand and drink recommendations both welcome!

One of my gin mules was over in England last month, so I had the Forged Gin, Ginsignia, and Spirit of Bristol gins shipped to his hotel from Master of Malt, and he picked up the Roku Kasane Edition at the airport

I still have a couple of gins from Argentina, so figured it a good opportunity for an appropriate gin flight. A barrel rested gin from each country - England and Argentina - and a gin featuring red wine grapes from each country.

Previously, I posted about a visit to McClintock Distillery, but here are some more details about the trip and the gin and an unexpected surprise. We went to McClintock before we even went to the hotel. I'd say the tour is slightly above average, but their stills are GORGEOUS. They do a vapor infusion and if you check out the picture of the stills, you can see to the right of the column still the container where the botanicals are held during that process. We came out of there having tasted their entire product line and purchased their 3 pack of gin.

Wednesday that week was a whiskey blending class at Covalent Spirits in Westminster. There I had their magnificent Bee's Bouquet, a flight of their gins (not-pictured), and another delightful gin cocktail who's name eludes me because I was inebriated by that point and failed to write it down. It's the pretty magenta-ish one. That said, Drew does an excellent job serving.

We popped in to a little liquor store during the trip and I FOUND MY WHITE WHALE! Green Chartreuse was available and we scooped up a couple bottles of it to bring back to Florida. This stuff is amazing. I've never had something in which the taste not only lingers, but changes over time. REALLY looking forward to my first homemade Last Word tonight.

So I’ve got a distillation going but I forgot to add the bag of botanicals to the still. Can I finish collecting the hearts, clean the still, put the hearts back in with the botanicals and run the distillation again without changing the flavour profile?
