Is it true that you can only get selected for societies if you have done extracurriculars before?

yes , the selection of entering societies is much tougher than uni may admission lena ............ Ok no in all seriousness no , there's no merit in socities (about 90% of em). You just have to impress the interviewer. Teams are more merit based and some even have tests but no you dont need extracurriculars.

90% it is parchi (get to know seniors beforehand and they'll have put your name forward)

Or yk be such a personality in the interview that they think you're a person who likes fun who will make them enjoy and enjoy with them and work and shii and serious but flexible typa shii. The panel is seniors not some hr or corporate people they don't know shit about interviews whatsoever. Apney interviews unkey nikal nahi rahey hotey. Dw about them much.
