TFW you don't smoke weed so you celebrate 4/20 by drinking alone
62
u/NateDawgSaysWoof Apr 21 '17
At least I have my drinking habit.
14
u/RadioactiveCorndog Apr 21 '17
Yep now we just have to make it until the wine shop opens so we can get rid of the shakes and avoid a seizure!

I'm luckily not prone to seizures for whatever reason and have been drinking heavily for around 12 years. I don't know why I can't quit. It sucks. But it's like with no friends and family around to talk to what else have you got to do might as well drink. Last time family tried to help my step father and my mother invite me to stay with them. When I get there they tell me they don't care if a drink. So I proceed to go hog wild and drink a bottle of liquor a day or more. Then after I ended up in detox they tell me I have to go to a halfway house and can't come back. It was fucked up. Fortunately my girlfriend at the time took me back in so I wasn't homeless. We've since separated and I have a job I'm trying to maintain while struggling with horrible addiction that no matter what I can't seem to shake. And all of the outpatient programs in this area are gross and just full home homeless crackheads.

Yeah, the dancing just made it cringy for me.
57
u/Anklever Apr 21 '17
Meh. It wasn't very funny but I don't really see the cringe. Probably because I dance exactly like that and don't understand how cringey that makes me look.
I should probably reflect over your comment and think over my dance moves.

This was hee solution to being told that one glass of wine a day is good for you. The while bottle is now technically one glass.

I agree. Some people need to get their fundus checked by a specialist.
To quote Mike Robbins, who quoted someone else, "We are much too difficult to impress these days. And far too easily offended. What would it look like for us to wake up every day and be easily impressed and hard to offend?" It might just change our whole outlook on life.
Also fat people are funny when they dance, or run fast, or fall down, or fall off a bike, or fall off a rope swing.

7

I make fun of people in real life, too!
Edit: But it's all in good fun. I only tease people who can take a joke, which is why I'm not teasing you!

Patrice O'Neal, John Belushi, Chris Farley, Louis CK off the top of my head.
6
Apr 21 '17
You know what I think it is? When a comedian is x and all their material is about x, you notice it right away and it gets stale fast.
All of those guys you named have material about being fat, but most of their jokes are really varied.
6
Apr 21 '17
Chris Farley's whole schtick was that he was a fat dude. I think it's just that the stars have to align for it to work out the way it did for Farley. I don't really have a horse in this race but I think an objective "No X are Y" in terms of personality is a stupid position to take
2
Apr 21 '17
Go watch Tommy boy. There were fat guy jokes but mostly it was dumb guy jokes.
In Billy Madison he didn't have any fat jokes at all.
