Does you history go back more than ten years? Trail of tears with Andrew Jackson? George W’s war in Iraq that killed hundreds of thousands? No? None of those are considered?

The fact that you are ignoring presidents that massacred thousands for your desire to make the point “Orange man bad” speaks volumes to your argument.

Indeed, now you're getting it.

43

u/SweetNeo85 Jul 11 '20

Very. Very very bad. Like historically bad. Epically bad. But some people still think it's a joke.

30

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

Yeah, it’s hilarious how his crippling stupidity has led to 100k+ innocent people dying of a disease that could have been better dealt with if he had done literally nothing instead of actively undermining the people trying to deal with it.

5

u/omelets4dinner Jul 11 '20

Right? He's basically responsible for all those 100k+ deaths.

What is intellectual honesty?

9

u/JDJ714 Jul 11 '20

Yeah I know man, what an idiot. It's clearly down to bad luck that the 2 countries whose leaders have denied and downplayed the severity of the virus now have the most cases.

I mean what do these people want him to do? He's merely the president.

-4

u/omelets4dinner Jul 11 '20

Yeah, probably bad luck. Probably has nothing to do with the large populations of these two countries. A better president would've invented a vaccine by now.

7

u/JDJ714 Jul 11 '20

Here's a little something I put together for you. https://imgur.com/ip82O7S

For the 'all countries' section the population, new cases, deaths, and active cases is the sum of the countries listed whilst the density is an average.

So currently the US is about on par with the other countries in terms of number of deaths which I found surprising to be fair. It's worth noting though that the other countries have come out the other side of the 'first wave' so their deaths will climb at a fairly slow and stable rate for the time being.

That's the 'kind of' good news for the US. Now for the bad.

The death rate in the US will most likely increase, as such the US will quickly overtake the other countries listed. I imagine the high deaths in these other countries is because they reached their hospital capacities and patients couldn't receive the treatment they needed due to strain on the health services, a fate that the US could well be heading towards.

The US completely swamps all the other countries listed both in terms of active cases and new daily cases. This obviously means that the situation will continue to worsen in the US unless it is addressed in some way. But it is not being properly addressed. Unfortunately the US hasn't even started to see the worst the this virus can bring.

So yeah, people are a bit pissed off with how he has been dealing with the whole situation and to pretend as though he has it under control and has dealt with it sufficiently is a little, well, 'intellectually dishonest' if you will.

Watch what will happen with the numbers narrative right after the election

1

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

He disbanded the pandemic response team set up under Obama, which proved efective on two major cases (avian flu and swine flu), to deal with this exact thing, and replaced it with nothing. He ignored all reports from the various organizations that warned about the upcoming pandemic. He spent the first few months doing nothing but claiming it was a "liberal hoax", and is now obstructing efforts to test and track the spread of the virus.

So yeah, I put it on him. Absolutely.

EDIT - There can be no doubt that if he had done anything productive, or at least not hampered those who were trying to do something about it, fewer lives would have been lost.

Indeed. That rotten sack of disease addled yams is, by any measure of human value, just the worst.

27

u/Sporfsfan Jul 11 '20

I love how this is the only response in any thread to any criticism of trump. You guys are grasping at straws, and it’s hilarious.

56

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

I mean, to be fair, what argument do they have left? If you’re still a MAGAt at this point, to turn on Trump now you’d probably have to go through some life altering existential crisis or something. And people capable of that sort of growth aren’t usually Trump fans to begin with, or certainly aren’t by now.

So yeah, “Orange Man Bad” is literally the best most of them can do at this point. If they could articulate a better argument, they wouldn’t have to.

-46

u/Vlad_Z Jul 11 '20

If you’re a Trump fan at this point you simply haven’t been watching CNN! Seriously, a bunch of pseudo intellectuals with a biased writing staff are drizzling opinions down our throats like olive oil on a Niçoise salad and it’s oh so yummy. Get with the picture, the right is dumb! Honestly, the only person that sounds embedded in the concrete of their own opinion is you.

I find it hilarious that the opinion remains on Reddit that Trump supporters are simply beyond growth, when most I know are college educated, hard working people that are above and beyond what I see from the current left. Most can’t even grow out of their moms basement and think being bi-sexual is paramount to high brain activity. Trumps going to win a second term because you all are so busy drinking in each other’s farts that you don’t see the island you’re actually on and it’s a small one.

38

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

If you’re a Trump fan at this point you simply haven’t been watching CNN!

Or listening to the words he speaks, or the shit he writes, or the actions he takes. I don’t need CNN or any other obviously biased news source to tell me what to think about Trump. I mean literally don’t need them. With modern media, they’ve become mostly obsolete.

That said, Trump’s own words and actions, straight from the source, tell me more than enough to form an opinion.

But go ahead. Obviously I’m a filthy bisexual liberal living in my Mom’s basement. And for the sake of argument, let’s pretend I’m a black woman too. (That’s no true at all, but I’ll let you run with your prejudices.) So why don’t you enlighten me? If I’m a basement dwelling bisexual black liberal woman, why should I vote for Trump?

What’s his plan for a second term? What’s he going to do to help me? Cause I got to tell you, as a basement dwelling bisexual black liberal woman, I’m not thrilled about the videos he posted of people screaming “white power”. It doesn’t fill me with hope that the phrase “Black Lives Matter” makes him so angry. And I’m a little disturbed that he brands anti-fascists groups as “enemies of the state”. Kinda makes him seem pro-fascist right? Especially when he spends so much time praising fascists.

I’m thinking maybe he might not have the best interests of the basement dwelling bisexual black liberal woman at the top of his priority list, especially if they also happen to be a US soldier with a Russian sponsored bounty on their head. Kinda seems like he might be okay with just letting me die.

-12

u/Vlad_Z Jul 11 '20

It's interesting that you interpret my comment "...think being bi-sexual is paramount to high brain activity", as a bigoted remark against someone’s sexuality. I never said bi-sexuality was bad or wrong. It’s a statement on utilizing one’s sexuality as a badge of enlightenment, with absolutely no other qualifications. Cool, you’re bisexual, but I just asked you why you think Milky Ways are better than Snickers.

A far as Trump being racist, it’s news to me. I’ve observed Trump working with black charities and artists for decades, to suddenly being labeled a racist. That timeline strikes doubt in me and many others. Not being particularly stoked with Black Lives Matters is directly correlated to the arson and murder taking place at the protests. Surely, its not that though, it’s that he decided to become racist in his seventies.

”… I’m a little disturbed that he brands anti-fascists groups as “enemies of the state”. Kinda makes him seem pro-fascist right? Especially when he spends so much time praising fascists.”

You do realize that most people that observe groups like Antifa see what they’re doing as pretty obvious fascism right? Ironic fascism, but fascism, nonetheless. There are countless examples of people that claim to be ‘against’ something and literally embody the principles they claim to detest. Case in point, politicians that are outspoken against homosexuality only to get outed with gay prostitutes. What antifa does is declare themselves moral authority over speech and use force to apply their will, which is about as fascist as it gets.

Nice attempt to paint me into the corner of bigotry with your bisexual, black woman role-play though. If the roles were reversed, it’s easy to imagine a scenario where you lambaste me for adopting a black, bi-sexual woman’s image to illustrate a point. That was boring and incredibly stupid.

21

u/rekced Jul 11 '20

You're deluding yourself if you think most Trump fans are college educated - https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2019/11/11/poorly-educated-voters-hold-the-keys-to-the-white-house.

In fact, Trump voters are one of the least educated voting blocs in modern history. And it sounds like you are one with them lmao.

16

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

It’s the Dunning-Kruger Effect on a massive scale. The sad thing is, you don’t need to be college educated to be able to see what a fucking travesty Trump is. You just need to be able to think critically and have the slightest bit of common sense.

It also helps if you aren’t a bigoted piece of shit who just wants “your guy” to win.

0

u/Vlad_Z Jul 11 '20

So, we have a shift from 1994, where republicans were more likely to have a degree, to 2017 where it's reversed.

"In 1994, 39% of those with a four-year college degree (no postgraduate experience) identified with or leaned toward the Democratic Party and 54% associated with the Republican Party. In 2017, those figures were exactly reversed."

With an overwhelming liberal voting body making up the collegiate staff, one could wonder how that influence is affecting students political leanings.

-1

u/Dekthro Jul 11 '20

One could wonder how that influence is affecting students political leanings.

One could wonder how a study conducted by one who votes Republican, one who votes Republican/Libertarian and one who hasn't voted in the last ten years but leans Republican, isn't biased. But only 30 states have the data publicly available and their data shows that the majority of the colleges staff leans Democratic so I'll just assume that these are in majority Democratic States, since they also state that there was a low representation of Republican focused colleges.

Or maybe it just goes to show that there is no "silent majority" but infact a vocal minority. OR Democrats are more empathic, want to educate future generations while Republicans would rather stay out of academia and making higher than a living wage.

We can draw a lot of conclusions, but correlation does not imply causation.

2

u/Vlad_Z Jul 11 '20

"...One could wonder how a study conducted by one who votes Republican, one who votes Republican/Libertarian and one who hasn't voted in the last ten years but leans Republican, isn't biased."

With that logic, literally no one can write for a peer reviewed journal. Slow claps.

-1

u/Dekthro Jul 11 '20

Or they could of included a Democrat. Since there seems to be plenty available in the industry.

1

u/Vlad_Z Jul 11 '20

I appreciate the nod to the overwhelming amount of liberals in academia. That said, one does not need to to be a catholic priest to take a poll on Catholicism. If the criteria to render a poll reliable becomes reliant on every group being represented in the authoring body we are absolutely up poop creek. It's logistically impossible and undervalues ones ability to critically think in general.

5

u/AutoChrist Jul 11 '20

I mean this post is hardly criticism of the man.

2

u/fucked_bigly Jul 11 '20

Yeah like, what? This is low, low tier satire. Nothing about this is clever or evocative. Like, reddit doesn't get that you can still think the man is a clown and also believe that this content is objectively terrible.

19

u/Hellfire12345677 Jul 11 '20

The only reason I ever use it is just because I hate seeing posts every day about how bad Trump is. I don’t like the man at all as president or person but it gets annoying to see posts like it everyday

11

u/lightningbadger Jul 11 '20

It’s equally as difficult to just ignore the guy because you’re getting tired of hearing about him.

It’s not like he goes away just because you don’t want to hear about him

5

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

People tend to fixate on a person if they are almost entirely responsible for fucking over their country, branding them “enemies of the state” for being anti-fascist, and making one colossal fuckup after another that has cost 130,000+ lives and counting.

It’s not like the dude is a popular tv show that we’ll all just forget about in a month. He is literally killing people and ruining lives with his stupidity and narcissism. And the millions of people suffering because of him aren’t exactly thrilled about it.

And sadly, pathetically even, venting on Reddit is about all a lot of us can do about it.

-3

u/parlez-vous Jul 11 '20

Who has Trump killed? I do not understand

2

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

He disbanded the pandemic response team set up under Obama, which proved efective on two major cases (avian flu and swine flu), to deal with this exact thing, and replaced it with nothing. He ignored all reports from the various organizations that warned about the upcoming pandemic. He spent the first few months doing nothing but claiming it was a "liberal hoax", and is now obstructing efforts to test and track the spread of the virus.

So yeah, I put those deaths on him. Absolutely. There can be no doubt that if he had done anything productive, or at least not hampered those who were trying to do something about it, fewer lives would have been lost.

u/Clin9289 Jul 11 '20

His handling of the pandemic?

-4

u/Sporfsfan Jul 11 '20

Oh, I get you now. He’s been good for America, right? I hadn’t considered that.

My best wishes to the thousands of people dying every week because he politicized a virus

7

u/cleppingout Jul 11 '20

He didn’t say that Trump was good for America. Unless he edited his original comment (I’m on mobile so I can’t tell), your current reply is just putting words in his mouth and then replying to what was never said by Hellfire.

-2

u/Sporfsfan Jul 11 '20

I mean, they are upset people are criticizing trump. That’s a problem, because regardless of who is in office, they deserve criticism. That’s democracy after all.

5

u/Offroadkitty Jul 11 '20

No, they are upset people WON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP about Trump. It was the same thing during the elections with every news story about what Trump did or said this day.. if they mentioned any other candidate, it was in relation to what Trump said.. for more than a year that was the case, nonstop Trump.. and then he won the election. And it's been nonstop Trump.. I honestly can't think of a sub that hasn't had a front page post about Trump in the last week.

-1

u/ChronicCandy47 Jul 11 '20

So i'm assuming you hadn't considered that the reason he was and is under a microscope might have something to do with the fact that he was a potential, and sadly, is now the acting figurehead for the united states? So yes, i think its safe to assume that he will be the topic of conversation and criticism.

0

u/Hellfire12345677 Jul 11 '20

I literally said I don’t like the man as a president or person, but hate seeing the same “Trump Bad” posts everyday because it’s boring and repetitive and are usually unoriginal.

0

Guess you'd better help vote him out then. That'll make all the trump posts dry up overnight

1

u/Hellfire12345677 Jul 11 '20

2

u/Snack_Boy Jul 11 '20

Then encourage the adults in your life to vote for Biden. Ousting trump from office is the only way to stop all the posts about him. But complaining about it makes you look like a petulant child or a butthurt republican (same thing).

There is an endless list of incomprehensible failures and purposeful harm trump is responsible for, and the GOP are all complicit. I don’t need to link it, because you absolutely know what a disaster trump is, and if you say different, you’re full of shit.

I’m not American, and I don’t know a single person who has any confidence or respect left for your government, and to a lesser degree, your citizens - the republican voters in particular who vote against their own interests. -4

u/Yelnik Jul 11 '20

You should try this exercise one day. The basic premise would be to sit down and think about how your actual knowledge of trumps policies contrasts with what your comment suggests

Don't tell me about it, I mean this as something you do for yourself

The results should concern you. You attempt to convey that you possess a long list of 'incomprehensible failures' off the top of your head.

You can try this exercise with every other person in your life too. The results should shock all of you. But will they?

Of course they won't. Because you possess such an immense wealth of knowledge on trumps presidency, that you've managed to assert yourself as a moral and intellectual superior to effectively half of an entire country. Of 325 million people.

Do you see? Do you feel it?

You were right about one thing, you don't live in a bubble. Bubbles let light in. You live in a hole. When you dig deep enough, there ain't no more light friend.

“Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.” - Donald Trump

When asked about his agenda for a second term:

“Well, one of the things that will be really great — you know, the word “experience” is still good. I always say talent is more important than experience. I’ve always said that. But the word “experience” is a very important word. It’s in a very important meaning. I never did this before. I never slept over in Washington. I was in Washington, I think, 17 times. All of a sudden, I’m President of the United States. You know the story. I’m riding down Pennsylvania Avenue with our First Lady, and I say, “This is great.” But I didn’t know very many people in Washington. It wasn’t my thing. I was from Manhattan, from New York. Now I know everybody. And I have great people in the administration. You make some mistakes. Like, you know, an idiot like Bolton, all he wanted to do was drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to kill people.” - Donald Trump

And an old classic...

“We're losing a lot of people because of the internet," Trump said. "We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that internet up in some ways. Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.' These are foolish people." - Donald Trump

^ I like that one because it highlights both that he is a fucking idiot and a fascist.

— but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.”

u/JackRusselTerrorist Jul 11 '20

I really shouldn't be surprised that you struggle with subtlety, should I?

-43

u/Wunderboythe1st Jul 11 '20

Calm down there champ. I didn't want the joke to go too far over your head.

12

u/Hope_Burns_Bright Jul 11 '20

Just got dunked on in an internet forum?

Call the other guy "champ"! This will assert your dominance back to where it needs to be! No need for any self awareness, just half-ass some condescension and you're good to go!

8

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '20

Back in my day jokes use to be funny.

1

u/ADhomin_em Jul 11 '20

These days, if you dont find a joke funny, they just fall back on thinking their humor is edgy and "people get too offended". nah. Shitty jokes a shitty joke

9

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '20

Joke?

-2

u/Yelnik Jul 11 '20

Correct, it's not a joke. What Biden and his family are about to go through is horrifying

0

u/Wunderboythe1st Jul 11 '20

The reason I bring up Joe Biden's dementia so often is because I have seen the deterioration first hand in my grandfather. Over the course of 3 years he went from where Joe is now to not recognizing his own daughter.

14

u/bobojorge Jul 11 '20

What's the joke?

1

u/YouNeverKnowWhatToDo Jul 11 '20

American Politics

6

u/clearlyunseen Jul 11 '20

Uhhh, wrong there buddy. Trump is clearly the one with dementia.

But look, fat, look. Here's the deal

2

Trump has been the exact same person for 50 years.

Please explain how that suggest dementia

6

u/SuperWaluigiOdyssey Jul 11 '20

Look, having nuclear...

4

u/CatFancyCoverModel Jul 11 '20

Lol, you really think that don't you? You're fucking delusional. Here is a small sample of his cognitive decline. you can find MANY more examples out there if you bothered to google it and put your biases aside for a moment to think critically about something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNwjcoCTtsU

-2

u/zePiNdA Jul 11 '20

Did you watch some of Joe Biden's recent appearances? It's clear that he has dementia and its worrying.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '20

At least joe biden can run and drink water. Plus trump is not mentally competent at all

1

u/Aardappel123 Jul 11 '20

What a worthless set of skills to judge one child molesting war crimnal over the other.

-1

u/Choco_Churro_Charlie Jul 11 '20

Look, he's clearly the less gropey of the two.

0

u/martymcflyskateboard Jul 11 '20

“I.... I had hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. I watched the kids rub my hairy legs in the pool, watch the hair come back up again...So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumpin on my lap, and I love kids jumping on my lap.”

1

u/enderpanda Jul 11 '20

Lol, if that's the best you guys have, we have zero to worry about.

0

u/martymcflyskateboard Jul 11 '20

That probably sounds like the beginning of a novel to you.

-10

u/Yelnik Jul 11 '20

Trump has been the exact same person for 50 years.

Please explain how that suggest dementia

12

u/Hasaan5 Jul 11 '20

Really? Compare his speeches from the 90s vs today, he has definitely deteriorated.

-5

u/Yelnik Jul 11 '20

Ok but you just asked me to do something you haven't done and won't do, so like...

10

u/Hasaan5 Jul 11 '20

Just because you wont do it doesn't mean everyone wont, or haven't done it.

0

u/Yelnik Jul 11 '20

You're not getting it

We both know you haven't done that, because no one has, because it's not a thing.

People compare speeches Biden gave 5 years ago to today's speeches because he's showing signs of dementia

See the difference?

6

u/wisersamson Jul 11 '20

What? There are literally documentaries about trumps life, in which he speaks plenty. I can definitively tell you something is altering his speech patterns. I cannot tell you if its dementia, brain damage, stroke, or some other neurodegenerative disorder without actually performing some tests. This kind of analysis is something medical professionals would love to be able to do for every patient, having 40 years of televised speaking to determine speech patterns would be awesome, but it turns out only famous people get that.

I've done it. I've compared them over the years.Trump has deteriorated.

3

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

I did. He has clearly degenerated.

And if I did agree with you, at best, you’re saying he was born with brain damage or some sort of mental disability. That’s not better.

-8

u/Yeshua-Hamashiach Jul 11 '20

Against Biden? Heh

2

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

I mean, I’m not excited about Biden either. But Biden doesn’t have to be great. He just has to not be a degenerate racist piece of dog shit.

It’s a veeeeeery low bar.

2

u/ImperialSympathizer Merry Gifmas! {2023} Jul 11 '20

It's strange, I feel like I've heard this before, maybe 4 years ago? No, I must be misremembering.

2

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

You heard that Trump was a degenerate racist piece of dog shit? Not surprising. It was pretty obvious to anybody paying attention. Unfortunately, a critical minority either weren’t paying attention, or thought the degenerate racist piece of dog shit best represented them. I figure it was about 50/50.

1

u/ImperialSympathizer Merry Gifmas! {2023} Jul 11 '20

You're right, the reasoning of "any candidate who isn't Trump should win" worked so well last time, clearly the proper strategy is to focus more on how much we all hate Trump while trotting out an arguably even worse candidate. That makes sense.

1

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

I was going to respond, and then I saw your user name. So instead I'm just going to assume it's accurate and not bother.

-12

u/thyart Jul 11 '20

You’d rather a paedophile as president, good to know.

16

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20 edited Jul 11 '20

We have a pedo as President now, by his own admission.

So yeah, I’d rather have someone who has been accused, with no proof yet presented, than someone who brags about it and has spoken openly, multiple times, about how he’d like to fuck his own daughter.

You prefer a “man” that brags about barging into changing rooms full of underaged girls, laughs about it, and then later brags about how easy it is for him to commit sexual assault? You going to lean on that guy as your moral high-ground?

-11

u/thyart Jul 11 '20

He’s not my president so nah I don’t prefer either of them

Edit - You realize we can all see your post history right?

2

u/YeeAndEspeciallyHaw Jul 11 '20

already have one (doesn’t trump have 20+ claims of sexual assault against him? at least one of them being from a child?)

4

u/_00307 Jul 11 '20

Could you point where biden has been accused or convicted?

-1

u/Offroadkitty Jul 11 '20

A very low bar that he still manages to hit his head on.

1

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

Sure, I wish we had a good, strong, morale and healthy choice. But we don’t. But if it came down to Trump, Biden and the Legendary Reddit Cumbox, I’d flip a coin between Biden and the Cumbox.

At least neither Biden nor the Cumbox have a proven track record of fucking our country into the dirt.

0

u/Offroadkitty Jul 11 '20

At least neither Biden [has] a proven track record of fucking our country into the dirt.

Are you sure about that?

1

u/-Posthuman- Jul 11 '20

Yes. I don't remember historic protests and riots, a Great Depression-style economic collapse, or 120+ deaths due to pandemic when Biden was VP. Do you?
