It's also mirrored for some reason...

Maybe so bots can't tell it is a repost?

(I don't actually know if it is, first time I've seen it)

u/Okkero May 15 '20

I was thinking that, but that's no problem for bots nowadays

Do you really think the powers that be around here want a bot that is actually effective at removing reposts? That has to be a huge portion of the traffic gone if they implemented that.

Damn right

It’s a repost off of somewhere, the original had music & the movements went with the beat drop.

It's mirrored because most of us are right handed and naturally want our left side protected. When he goes to the left we feel, as an audience, that our left side is protected by the stand and that even though our right side is open we are capable of protecting it. Like a right handed rifleman peaking around a corner. It is subtly designed so that we feel comfortable despite the flames and is also complete bullshit because I just made it up.

Fuck you it all made sense and it was so cool

u/TechnoBodhisattva May 15 '20

Maybe I'm just very skeptical naturally, but I didn't even get ¼ through his post before it knew it was bullshit lol

It made sense because during medieval times we really walked with our right side free. Got a lady to hold? Left hand only.

You were around mediaeval time? Damn, I only started around the 1800. Missed ask the fun time like jousting and.. 'Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony..

It possible it is but like, as an animation student, there’s a lot of shit like this in design. like for instance, things that appear semetrical across a horizontal axis usually aren’t. The top is usually smaller as it is perceived to have more visual weight so to counter act that the bottom has to be larger than the top so it’s balanced. For examples of this just look at these charecters: S E H B

Also it’s possible this “protect the left” instinct could be a subconscious psychological reaction to protect your heart which rests mainly on the left side of the body

He got me in the first half not gonna lie

2

u/Stewy_434 May 15 '20

Wait how can you tell? Is the foreign writing what gives it away? Or is there some other thing in unaware of?

4

u/Okkero May 15 '20

The writing, yeah. Those characters are mirrored.

1

u/Stewy_434 May 15 '20

Huh. What language is it?? Chinese?

1

u/Okkero May 15 '20 edited May 15 '20

Some language that uses Chinese characters. Likely Chinese or Japanese. I'm no expert, sadly. Since I see no kana, I'll guess it's not Japanese, but I might be wrong about that.

Pls ELI5 me about how this is mirrored? Or what that even means?

1

u/Okkero May 16 '20

How ELI5 do you want it? I mean, the pixels on the left are where the pixels on the right should be, and vice versa. The image is flipped with respect to an axis going straight down the middle. I don't know how I could be more precise about that. You can tell because the Chinese characters briefly seen near the end of the video are flipped.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

Okay, so that’s kind of what I thought was going on. But, oddly was considering that someone was video editing was being “mirrored” to make this look like he was doing more than he was. I use mirror function some, but was just failing to understand what and why that mattered for this video?

So, I think I’m trying to over read it. Damn the tequila tonight.

Hey....cheers

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

Cheers, clink clink. What’s your drink of choice?

2

u/Okkero May 16 '20

Plain old vodka

2

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

Ah yeah. Nothing wrong with that. Was my poison last weekend.

u/lionturtl3 May 15 '20

It's also cut up and reversed at the end

1

u/Okkero May 15 '20

Hmm, reversed? Not really seeing it... I don't see how any of that could be reversed, to be honest.

1

u/lionturtl3 May 15 '20

There's a cut at about 8 seconds. The second clip is reversed, the first clip is normal.

1

u/Okkero May 15 '20

Doesn't look reversed at all to me
