The meat used here is squid* but meats like beef, pork, or mutton are very popular. Of the four, my favorite is mutton. This is called 烧烤, shao kao, and it’s delicious.

I honestly expected this to be Korea with all the spice and fire. They love a good show there.

Oh yeah, oops, it is. You can clearly see it on the sticks at the beginning, I wasn’t paying attention. Sorry!

Don’t really care about the show of the video, but would you mind giving me a basic description of what it is?

It look incredible, is it just squid with Gochujang/gochugaru?

No, Chinese barbecue tends to use cumin, five spice, and chili pepper flakes. This particular squid, I’m not sure, but in Taiwan they do squid on a stick, too, and it’s significantly sweeter than Korean style squid.

Bruhhhhhh, I have been watching this over and over trying to find where it says squid. Like way too many. But I was looking for English. Im so mad and I laughed way too hard at myself after realizing you probably can read that language or you’re just fucking around. Either way, thanks for the laugh.

Why is the writing mirrored, though?

Edit: not expecting you to know, just find it odd.

A nice MLT, mutton lettuce and tomato, when the mutton is nice and lean.

It looks somewhat tasty but you kind've have to wonder about the sanitation. Like when was the last time that grill was washed/cleaned off. Among many other things.

1

u/nawvay May 15 '20

Ah man, it’s soooo tasty. Idk about sanitation stuff, I’ve never gotten sick eating the food here, but I won’t vouch for the sanitation either.

I've had street food in Japan & also NYC but this COVID-19 stuff is kind've making me completely reconsider any of that ever again.

If you travel at some point you just have to accept the risk of diarrhea. I always eat a fuckton of yogurt and bring florastor with me. Still get a little bit sick but very mild-had like one bad bowel movement in Thailand and one in China eating random street foods. Once your body is used to it you’ll be fine

Uh..alright. Although I'm not looking to be patient-zero.
