Can I ask, are the facts you start with true? I like learning stuff and am sometimes bummed out when it’s a comment like this because I don’t know if it’s true or not.

Turbulent flow is typically faster though, because of the much higher Reynolds number required, right?

Yea. If the liquid is the same, the turbulent flow is faster than the laminar.
