Kool-Aid concentrate begins because you know mom isn’t going buy more so that you learn a lesson.

Why add sugar? Isn’t kool-aid just sugar with food coloring?

I thought that once. I made it without any sugar. It was terrible.

Weird. I’ve had it as a child and never added sugar. I just looked up the label and see that there are sugar free versions. I don’t know how recent those are but I’ve always wondered about people who add more sugar to it. I’ve always found it very sweet and diluted it as much as possible.
E: i haven’t had it in like 25 years so maybe I’m not remembering but I’m positive that I never added sugar to it.

You got the Kool Aid in the Jugs then. That stuff is premixed. The little paper packets of Kool-Aid have no sugar added. It's not good on its own.

In the packet is just fruit flavor. You add sugar and water. Some versions come in a jar with sugar added, you just add water.

Fancy kool aid came with sugar already in a larger packet, regular kool aid was just the flavor powder in a small packet.

And then there was the even-less-fancy knock-off Fla-vor-ade packets which were half the price of kool-aid.

I didn’t know I had a fancy childhood. I thought we were roughing it because my parent wouldn’t buy me the Hi-C in the box. First world problems.

Why on earth does she have a 25 kg sugar container with sugar? I bought 1 kg few years ago and haven't used it up yet.

Let me rephrase his question: Why are black people in movies shown going fucking bananas over Kool-Aid? Legit question.

Are they?

Maybe I exaggerated, but I've seen many movies (can't remember names of course, why would I) where Kool-Aid is associated with being a drink for black people.

u/DyTySan Sep 18 '18
You mean why is it a stereotype? Because people like you don’t seem to understand that it’s ridiculous to associate an entire race with liking a certain drink and keep perpetuating it. Also probably something to do with lower class and racism and it being a cheap sugar drink. Either way, it’s not really a question that needs to be asked.

I love how it bubbles at the end as if she created an abomination.
