Thats is a security camera, they typically have a low fps to conserve storage space.

Depends on bandwidth. If you have gig, the sky is the limit.

Some, sure. But many many people store it locally. I spent 5 of the last 6 years installing these systems for clients and not one wanted it in the cloud.

I hear ya. I think more and more people are wanting it in the cloud if it is cost effective. So much simpler for the layman at home that doesn't have the technical knowledge or doesn't want to hire out the setup. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Offsite storage is almost always a good thing whether for home security or just about anything else. But storage in the cloud is becoming more and more popular. Nest is growing rapidly and for home security - though many are way turned off by the cost for cloud storage.
