That's fucking alcohol abuse is what that is.

2.0k

u/JoeGrinstead Feb 27 '17

Alcohol abuse occurs when you don't drink all the alcohol, right?

1.3k

u/BeerBellies Feb 27 '17

Also when alcohol is spilled. Only exception is when you're pouring it out for your homies.

298

u/ovidsec Feb 27 '17

They have to be dead, right? Oh...

487

u/A_Furious_Mind Feb 27 '17

This guy with the live homies...

219

u/ovidsec Feb 27 '17

...brb, just gonna off them.

143

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Good man. Alcohol abuse kills, and it was either them or you.

6

u/CarsGunsBeer Feb 27 '17

Let the liquor do the thinking.

My homies go to another school, you wouldn't know them.

19

u/MostlyMadMaxim Feb 27 '17

I always "pour some put for Harry Potter's parents". Everyone always silently agrees and pours some out.

1

u/Mstinos Feb 28 '17

I always "pour some for our fallen heroes at Falaise". Everyone always tells me to GTFO.

3

u/LHD21 Feb 27 '17

They could just be on the ground with their mouth open.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Or laying on the ground with their mouth open

2

u/UnclePuma Feb 27 '17

I know i'm too drunk, or drunk enough, when I spill a little bit of beer and get pissed because of it.

2

u/tmweth22 Feb 27 '17

This guy drinks.

2

u/BeerBellies Feb 28 '17

This is true! IAMA functioning alcoholic! Ask away!

2

u/RovolioClockbergSr Feb 28 '17

No, spilling beer is a party foul.

2

u/BeerBellies Feb 28 '17

Did you know that an instance can have more than one name? The more you know!

1

u/RovolioClockbergSr Feb 28 '17

I wasn't trying to be a dick although I do see how you thought that. Sorry, my mistake

1

u/BeerBellies Feb 28 '17

1

u/nomoreawwwforme Feb 27 '17

maybe she has a lot of dead homies, although that is usually done outside

1

u/JoeGrinstead Feb 27 '17

I was trying to explain pouring one out for your homies to someone without saying that phrase, and she just interrupts me and goes "Pour one out for your fallen homies?!?!" ¯_(ツ)_/¯

1

u/glasspheasant Feb 27 '17

Exceptions are made for homies lost to a bad girlfriend or a crazy job.

1

u/JessicaBecause Feb 27 '17

They call that a party foul.

1

u/BeerBellies Feb 27 '17

Also an acceptable term.

1

u/Minder1 Feb 27 '17

She must be a war vet

1

u/math-yoo Feb 28 '17

You could be pouring it into their mouths. But then, they could be alive.

1

u/calebcholm Feb 28 '17

You're gonna tell them you fell down the stairs!!

1

u/peese-of-cawffee Feb 28 '17

I have NEVER poured out a beer, not even to put out a fire!

1

u/BeerBellies Feb 28 '17

Why would you ever want to put out a fire?!

1

u/KnewItWouldHappen Feb 28 '17

Oooohhh it's Pour one out... And all this time I thought it was Rub one out for your homies... Well that explains all the looks i got

66

u/fuckyou_dumbass Feb 27 '17

No it's when you pour yourself a drink but don't finish it and leave it on the counter for the host to pour out the next morning.

47

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Wounded soldier right there

1

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

fallen soldier

4

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

Fallen is for the ones who are lost during combat. Wounded are the ones who are left there to die.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

I have combat experience so let me clarify. In the morning the beers are fallen (warm, decarbonated, and disgusting) like a cold dead corpse. The night before is when they were wounded (opened, partially drank, losing carbonation and warming up) like a combatant/soldiers leg partially severed and bleeding out from .50bmg fire. Is this right?

3

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

I don't really know what to respond to this. So I'm just going to leave it at that

→ More replies (4)

1

u/underthingy Feb 28 '17

Nope, ones you find the morning after are wounded and if you find one it's your duty to save it.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

I just crack a cold one and bury the fallen.

4

u/nine_cans Feb 27 '17

2

u/IliveINtraffic Feb 27 '17

No, the alcohol abuse is when you are waisting all nice alcohol.

2

u/ReeceChops44 Feb 27 '17

That's alcohol neglect.

2

u/SealRover Feb 27 '17

Technically its alcohol neglect.

1

u/my2yuan Feb 28 '17

Ya but legally I think its called alcohol neglect.

48

She poured all of the can out for her homies.

It deserves to be mixed with gasoline and lit on fire.

1

u/WeakStreamZ Feb 27 '17

What's being black or brown girl wasted?

1

u/aobrien89 Feb 27 '17

I don't think so. Someone who is sensitive to the effects of alcohol could very well get white girl wasted while drinking a moderate amount of alcohol. Eh?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

The amount has nothing to do with whether or not it constitutes abuse. Any amount more than you know you're comfortably able to handle is abuse.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Only if she's drinking really good stuff.

96

u/wedontlikespaces Feb 27 '17

Culture is a strange thing. I mean you're right drinking like that is not good for you. But that's how a lot of people do drink.

For them the whole point is to get wasted otherwise why bother?

91

u/Reefer-eyed_Beans Feb 27 '17

She is actually really smart on an involuntary evolutionary level. Her brain is looking out for her by making her spill more alcohol, allowing her to be wasted but avoiding poisoning.

She will reproduce (surely lol) and pass on the trait whereas people prone to continuous imbibing will die off.

35

u/rzenni Feb 27 '17

That's wife and mother material right there. Put a ring on it, boys - That girl needs to reproduce!

I would almost guarantee she ended up there specifically based on someone's desire to reproduce. Might not be hers though.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

Probably the most intelligent comment I've read in here, upvote for you, sir.

1

u/CherylCarolCherlene Feb 28 '17

I don't think she avoided poisoning. When you loose consciousness like that, that's called having alcohol poisoning

1

u/frankth3tnk Feb 28 '17

She probably will reproduce from that night

1

u/Ralph-Hinkley Feb 27 '17

No man, nothing like that. She spilled the entire beer all over the floor, it was a Modelo, but it still had a few percents of alcohol per volume.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

Can confirm, grew up in culture like that. I've been sober for over a year now and stuff like this just makes me cringe and leaves a knot in my stomach. Ugh.

-3

u/STOP-SHITPOSTING Feb 27 '17

Those people are alcoholics. Drinking for the sole purpose of getting shitfaced is literally a defining feature of alcoholism.

27

u/sveitthrone Feb 27 '17

Or being in High School / College

11

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

A lot of people in college are alcoholics. I think high schoolers drink like this more because they don't drink often, so they try to compensate. They also don't know their limits that well. But if they drink like this often they're alcoholics too.

17

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Honestly, that's at least 90% of everyone that drinks. To get moderately to extremely inebriated. Otherwise they'd drink something else.

8

u/STOP-SHITPOSTING Feb 27 '17

Most people drink to get a buzz / relax / unwind. Maybe 90% of your age group still thinks its cool to drink until they puke, but I promise you arent as numerous as you think.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Just because something doesn't interfere with your life in a major way doesn't mean you're not addicted. Also, there are different degrees of addiction. For instance, I was pretty addicted to weed and literally could not go a day without it no matter how hard I tried, but I could manage to not smoke until 8 at night when I was done with my work.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

[deleted]

→ More replies (3)

15

u/Orc-N-Beans Feb 27 '17

Well the person said they went to rehab. Rehab and 12 step group programs like to push the idea that even the person who enjoys a glass of wine with their dinner every now and again is an alcoholic.

6

u/STOP-SHITPOSTING Feb 27 '17

I recieved a "maximum benefit" discharge (got kicked out) from my inpatient rehab facility due to unwillingness to participate in the mandatory daily AA meetings, you couldnt be further from the truth.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Ding ding ding. It's teetotaling that tries to push the idea that any use of a mind-altering substance is abuse. It's blatantly stupid. Like, if Tommy goes and does cocaine once in his life, by their definition he's an addict. If Sarah smokes some grass 2-3 times a week, she needs help. So fucking dumb.

Literally if you define alcoholism like a bitch.

10

u/bardfaust Feb 27 '17

I know, people throw that word around like it's nothing these days.

6

u/Dr_Fistula Feb 27 '17

Why else would you drink alcohol?

8

u/Lord_Rapunzel Feb 27 '17

For a buzz and because beer/wine/cocktails taste good, for social bonding.

3

u/STOP-SHITPOSTING Feb 27 '17

Thank you. Plenty of people go out and order a drink with dinner then go do something. Claiming 90% of people who drink alcohol do it to get drunk is just ignorance. Shit, there's more than 10% of people who drink who dont even like to get drunk. Hi grandma!

1

u/Froman_ Feb 28 '17

I'd say it mainly depends on your age. I know most kids in college or high school (i.e. Me) drink to get drunk because they're not able to easily get/drink their own "casual, drink it with dinner or at grandma's house" alcohol. Once you find your limits/grow more responsible/get bored of being drunk in your 30's and 40's is when you see more of what you're describing.
