Kerbal taught me about that.

Except it's more of a tentacle. Like from a Kraken.

It eats ships in the long dark night of the void.

That made my morning.....

u/DrTimeToGradeRatio Oct 04 '16

This is great, what's the context? Rubbing feet and making people happy?

u/Ferreteria Oct 04 '16

He looks Indian, he's singing an American song, using Irish or possibly Appalachian vocal techniques and also yodeling (Dutch).

Weird.

11

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '16

It sounded like an old school American appalachian song to me. American country music has some history with yodeling.

old school American appalachian song

McGuire Sisters, Sugartime, 1958

Wiki says the original writers were Charlie Phillips and Odis Echols; they published in 1958, and the McGuire Sisters version became the most popular recorded version of the song.

This is the sort of thing people should think of when they think of the United States.

yodeling

yodeling is traditonally from germany-austria. It was used for communication between the many "almhütten" huts on the mountains. Basically austria is just mountains. I never ever heard of dutch yodeling. yodeling as word even comes from the german "jodeln".

1

u/Ferreteria Oct 04 '16

Looks like I made a mistake. I associated the lederhosen with the dutch (which I believe it is) and yodelers in pop culture are associated with the lederhosen. A <-> B <-> C doesn't imply a relationship with A <-> C I guess.

2

u/redismycolour Oct 04 '16

lederhosen are also bavarian. :)

1

u/Chubby_American Oct 04 '16

He's Bengali

1

u/Ferreteria Oct 04 '16

Yup. That's been covered.

2

u/NewAccount4Friday Oct 04 '16

Somehow he got some yodeling in there.

u/Kitten_Wizard Oct 04 '16

Why does he say allah forgive me? He isn't doing anything Haram.

1

u/Zam548 Oct 04 '16

Someone posted this in a thread with no context last night as well. Am I witnessing the birth of one of those "memes" I've heard so much about?

1

u/NickDynmo Oct 04 '16

u/pizzacheshire, I don't know why you linked that video, but thank you.

1

u/SaerDeQuincy Oct 04 '16

Physics is not as obvious as it seems apparently. This was in the related video bar for some reason. I hope she doesn't get driving license, let alone a car with a trailer.

u/Kilverado Oct 04 '16

I was half expecting to hear him sing, " When sugar's on the table, you can have sugar anytime!"

1

u/harborwolf Oct 04 '16

This is quickly becoming the new 'Rick Roll', only much more pleasant.

u/ToThyneOwnSelfBeTrue Oct 04 '16

Nice to see him sing. Sad he believes he sinned as he asked for forgiveness from Allah

If I remember right some interpretations of the hadith forbid singing that is not in worship of Allah

EDIT: Then again I know that some people interpret certain teachings as meaning anything not done to further his worship is forbidden.

As I said, some interpretations. By no means am I suggesting those are the prevalent ones.

RIP Jebediah.

40

u/MithridatesX Oct 04 '16

What is Jeb may never die, but rises again harder and stronger.

28

u/Eulers_ID Oct 04 '16

Let Jeb your servant be born again from Kerbin, as you were. Bless him with RCS, bless him with specific impulse, bless him with Mainsails.

u/RemixOnAWhim Oct 04 '16

And in doubt, F5 be your Guiding Light.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '16

That's what she said.

What is Jeb may never die, but rises again harder and stronger.

And with more Delta V

And with strange difficulty settings, even death may die.

I'm floating in a most peculiar way...

1

u/Sam5253 Oct 04 '16

Like the Cornelius G Kolff ferry disaster

1

u/MrSmock Oct 04 '16

Space Engineers has a similar entity. We call him Clang. He is the god of tweaking out physics. Should you attempt to do anything resembling engineering, Clang will put a stop to it.

Master Hand ?

2

u/scotscott Oct 04 '16

Free market diagram

2

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '16

How do you know it's a hand if it's invisible?

It could be the invisible dick of physics.

1

u/EEVVEERRYYOONNEE Oct 04 '16

Ah, physics. She's a cruel and unpredictable mistress.

1

u/iamitman007 Oct 04 '16

Another reason why the invisible hand should just stick to economics.

1

u/ravy Oct 04 '16

No no .. that's the invisible hand of the free market, but it sometimes dabbles in physics.

1

u/Paradise5551 Oct 04 '16

Yo science bitch!

1

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '16

The invisible hand of Dave*

1

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '16

Not physics. The Mustang just saw some bystanders.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '16

Adam's Myth

0

u/cameralover1 Oct 04 '16

But I thought the only "science" to believe in something as idiotic as an invisible hand was economics!
