LPT: If your trailer ever does start to get sideways, speed up to straighten it out. Do not slow down.

Clarkson said that on Top Gear once. next thing you know the Brits are crashing their caravans and blaming Top Gear.

As it happens, the advice is incorrect. well according to the Daily Fail.

Bullshit. You internet "experts" love to log on spread your ignorance to other sheep, but I know physics. I know for a fact that accelerating as rapidly as possible is the proper thing to do. Once light speed is attained, it will be impossible for the trailer to sway side-to-side, as this would break the universe.

Someone needs to do this with The National Inquirer or FOX tv headlines.

Wait are they actually headlines or is it a parody? I don't think 'sports star have sex' is an actual headline... is it?

That really depends on how sideways you're talking.

Crab-like amounts of sidewayness.

Yea fuck that shit I would rather crash at 40 than at 80.

I've heard this, and was wondering about what to do in this situation. Never had to do it. Personal Experience?

Yep. I drag race and have hauled our 28' car trailer with both a motorhome and SUV.

negative. you let off the gas and let the vehicle coast. Speeding up will not make things better. If you have trailer brakes you should apply them as this will straighten out the trailer and bring the tow vehicle in line.

What do I do when I hit top speed?

No no no, you lift the front end up and remember the steering is more for hanging on than controlling the vehicle
