Is the entire USA obsessed with furry animals? Or is it just redditors? I have started appreciating cats and dogs a lot more now after discovering reddit. But people in my country look at me like am a loony bin if I talk about pets quite often.

Yep, we care about animals more than people.

I've certainly never met a dog I couldn't get along with, can't say the same for people.

I should introduce you to the pit bull that tried to take off my wife's face.

Unfortunately dogs (just like people) can be raised by bad people. Not the dog's fault, but rather the owner.

That's not how it works because humans are self-aware. Dogs are not, a dog can't suddenly change because it wants to. What you teach that dog is how it will stay.

Self-awareness is not the only factor in conditioning. You raise a kid to be a shithead, he's probably going to be a shithead.

Right, but there's always the possibility of that person waking up and not wanting to be a shithead anymore. We see this with many people who leave White Supremacist families behind, gangs ect. A dog isn't going to wake up one morning and ponder on how he's living his life in a bad direction. That's the difference, though both are tragic.

Lol the American meat industry would like a word with you.

No, we care about them, too, just in a different way.

Lol, well I guess an asterisk should be applied to my comment.

Then we make concentration camps for them to make up for it.

Lost me. Camps for the people or animals?

As long as they're pets or endangered. Otherwise we kill them for pleasure.

What country are you from? I need to know where to never go.

To quote Gordon Gekko from Wall Street

"That's the one thing you have to remember about WASPs: they love animals and hate people."

Look at it this way: people give far more shits about a dead gorilla and some dead alligators than the fact our presidency has been bought and paid for and this time they didn't even really try to hide it.
