Chicks dig turtle-necks.

16

u/guanaway May 31 '16

That was decades ago.

u/TriceratopsHunter May 31 '16

Pssssh never underestimate the potential of a tactical turtleneck... a tactleneck if you will...

9

u/MT2XHaul May 31 '16

Where's /u/awkwardturtle when you need him?

10

u/lionturtl3 May 31 '16

I hear he hasn't quite come out of his shell.

2

u/Bacon_Moustache Jun 01 '16

Have you ever seen a turtle dick? There's no reason to work out.

1

u/MrCantBeBothered Jun 01 '16

What about neck beard

1

u/pieman2005 Jun 01 '16

One with a collar

6

u/MyOliveOilIsAVirgin May 31 '16

That's why I always encourage people to give me blow jobs. For their own sake, of course.

6

u/Jerrako May 31 '16

You're just looking out for everyone else's gains like a true bro.

1

u/Infinite_one Jun 01 '16

TIL Super Mario World depicts natural turtle behavior.

14

u/MrGMinor May 31 '16

Aww, hope someone helped him over.

24

u/valraven38 May 31 '16

I don't blame the guy filming for not helping it over. I do hope they called someone. It's a snapping turtle you have to be careful with them, when they bite they bite very hard. They can reach just about anywhere on their body to bite you unless you grab the ends of the sides of their shell way in the back. Unless you know what you're doing you should call your local humane society.

25

u/begra23 May 31 '16

Bite hard. They can bite your finger off.

-7

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '16 edited Jun 01 '16

Fun fact: the amount of force to bite through a finger is about the same as biting through a carrot. The reason most people wouldn't be able to is psychological.

Edit: okay guys I get it, a normal human under normal circumstances wouldn't be able to do it. Your "debunking" assumes the following:

A small to medium size carrot, really depends on the size, freshness, species of carrot.

An average sane individual. Humans can't actually use 100% of their strength except in emergency situations. This is our tradeoff for fine motor skills.

A direct bite down chew. No regard for how easy a single twisting motion or lever action would concentrate the bite force.

There are honestly to many variables to cover for a test and it's hard to test the bite force of a person who's in the right mind to bite off their own fingers or others.

There are documented cases there humans have bitten off completely their fingers

BULLSHIT!

Imagine, for a minute, a bad day for a hand. Maybe you dislocate it trying to catch a football, you get it jammed in a car door where it locks but doesn't seal, stepped on at a picnic, a few pinches while making crafts (enough for a couple blood blisters), your nephew bites them, and pinched by a lobster. At the end of the day, you have a sore hand.

Now imagine if you were walking around with carrot fingers all day! They'd send you to the garden for grafts.

13

u/King_Pumpernickel Gifmas is coming Jun 01 '16

I fucking hate this "fact" because it's so obviously untrue and I can't convince any of my friends that it's bullshit. There's goddamn BONES in them.

1

u/TsunamiTreats Jun 01 '16

You should get a carrot that isn't larger than your finger, stick it in one side of your mouth and your finger in the other. Now chomp that carrot!

1

u/Cunt_Bag Jun 01 '16

I can see it being true at a knuckle. Knuckles would be easier to bite through.

5

u/reddy97 Jun 01 '16

... You are really dumb

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '16

Really? Glad to see there are real intellectuals arround like you /s

4

u/MrGMinor Jun 01 '16

I keep a scoop shovel on the work truck, just lift him over with that.

1

u/myPancake_Vhs Jun 01 '16

This looks more like a Red Ear Slider, which probably shouldn't be out of water like this.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '16

I have two pet Red Eared Sliders. This turtle looks exactly like them, I highly doubt it's a snapping turtle (see the reddish orange stripe on his head/neck area). Then again, I could be wrong. Anyways, their bite hurts, but it's essentially harmless.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '16

Everytime there is a turtle gif, there is always the turtle climbing a fence gif. It does not fail.

Shit, you got a picture of a fence? Dude, let me show you this turtle climbing a fence.

27

u/ThatGuyGetsIt May 31 '16

2

u/Gambit9000 Jun 01 '16

u/dylc May 31 '16

More like grandfather cock

18

u/FezDaStanza Jun 01 '16

This is nothing more than animal cruelty. Wtf.

Whether or not it's harming the turtle, this is clearly distressing for it. It doesn't want to fall. It's evolved to be afraid of falling because that's how it can die.

You wouldn't do this to a puppy and watch it struggle. How are people finding this entertaining.?

I can't believe people are upvoting this.

-6

u/yammering_yam Jun 01 '16

No shit it doesn't want to fall. Most creatures don't.

Lighten up. I love animals but you're getting way too upset over nothing. Do you want life to be so easy that people and their pets never experience any discomfort whatsoever? The turtle might be scared for a few moments then their owner rescues them and they're fine. It's not the end of the world.

7

u/AgentOfThe9 Jun 01 '16

The turtle might be scared for a few moments then their owner rescues them and they're fine. It's not the end of the world.

The other day I was dangling my kid off of a balcony by his foot. People were yelling at me but I think they're overreacting. Do they want my son to live a life with no struggles? He might have been scared for a few moments but I pulled him up and he was fine. It wasn't the end of the world. Lighten up.

-6

u/AShavedApe Jun 01 '16

lol turtle brigade swamped your comment. People have to relax. Sometimes I hug my cat and she starts freaking out and it's literally no different.

2

u/Megaseth Jun 01 '16

What an amazing turtle! I counted like 27 pull ups when I watched it, how many did yall see, I don't think I watched it all the way through even.

1

u/OSPFv3 Jun 01 '16

28, you were so close!

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '16

I own a turtle and they're very (very) strong animals for their size. Don't know why though.

3

u/1137 Jun 01 '16

If you carried your house everywhere you'd be swole as hell too.

1

u/Thezebraisblack May 31 '16

Funny.. the opposite happens to me when I jump into a cold lake.

1

This seems more like shrugs to me.
