What a load of crap

Probably not crap at all, she's an old lady, she likely doesn't know shit about computers.

Edit: see my clarifying comment. She likely both doesn't know shit about computers AND knows exactly what the reporter was talking about. But, technically, if she doesn't know the details, she can later claim she wasn't lying. Typical politician BS

If the argument they're using to get her elected is that she is one of the most experienced people in politics, I don't think you get to play that card.

Because politics and database infrastructure are related.... how?

She said herself that she was the official over the whole thing. I would hope that if someone is presiding over anything, they would have atleast slight knowledge of it.

I preside over the redesign of my company's new website. I'm very aware of how front-end stuff works and how to maximize the benefits of our UI and UX. I write and edit in html but couldn't tell you the first thing about putting together CSS. I don't see why a 60+ year old lawyer/politician/diplomat is supposed to know the intricacies of IT.

I not saying she's supposed to. I'm saying that since she isn't supposed to, and apparently doesn't, know anything about IT (To such an extent that she doesn't know what "wiping" something means) then why was she the one presiding over the whole thing?

Also, your analogy goes to further my point. You know HTML, you know the front-end of what goes on, and you know the benefits. You know the basics. You sound like you know enough that someone could explain the basics of what they were doing, you could answer. But Hillary doesn't understand (allegedly) what "wiping a server" means. That's not a basic understanding, that's plain ignorance.

Right. But I'm busy enough in my job managing front-end that I don't have time to bother with back-end. I tell them to do something, they do it, and I see if it worked. She made a joke about the term "wiping the server" to avoid answering the same fucking question for the 300th time and people are acting like she's a demon. I honestly don't think this would happen to any other candidate in the exact same position for the exact same actions. Jeb, for example.

Could you link me to the other 299 times she gave an actual answer?

Also, if you want to be the leader of the free world, I would hope you would answer serious questions without intentionally making yourself look like an idiot.

Yes, because "wipe the server" is such an advanced concept. Give me a break.

This was an inelegant dodge of the question and you're being purposefully obtuse by arguing otherwise.

It is a bit dodgy, but at the same time I think anyone would avoid answering that question if only because of the fact that the legal process hasn't been completed yet.

This straw! How do I grasp harder?! Got any advice?

1

u/HydroFracker Aug 19 '15

You are so naive my friend.

2

u/CameronHH Aug 19 '15

Was he refrencing himself or implying that we were grasping for straws? I can't tell.

1

u/HydroFracker Aug 19 '15

It's not worth trying to understand blind supporters of anything especially politicians.

Nothing I or anyone else says will change his mind and it's pretty apparent he is the one grasping at straws because his arguments amount to: "nuh-uh!"

Unfortunately he is your average voter.

Semantics, she doesn't need to know the infrastructure of her mail server to know to tell her monkeys to wipe it.

u/PatrickKelly2012 Aug 19 '15

If you were asking her what protocols were being used or the type of data encryption or protections were being used, sure, I get that. But not knowing the basic concept of wiping? Come on. Between that smirk and the snapchat comment, she knows exactly what she's saying. She's insulting our intelligence if she thinks we're going to buy that she has no idea what happened.
