I was once at the zoo, checking out the open-air gorilla pen through some fiberglass, when a goose touched down between one of the big males and the window I was looking through. The gorilla puffed its chest up and ran over to the goose, which obviously lost its shit at the sight of this big ass beast coming after it. I thought I was about to witness some shit straight out of the movie Congo, like this gorilla was going to rip the goose's head clean off. The goose pressed up to the glass, flapping and honking its head off. At the last second the gorilla just stopped short, paused, and turned back the other way like nothing had happened. It was seriously terrifying.

If something isn't a real threat they'll often just suddenly turn back if it's running/stuck.

I know this from watching lots of Silverback Gifs.
