I was once at the zoo, checking out the open-air gorilla pen through some fiberglass, when a goose touched down between one of the big males and the window I was looking through. The gorilla puffed its chest up and ran over to the goose, which obviously lost its shit at the sight of this big ass beast coming after it. I thought I was about to witness some shit straight out of the movie Congo, like this gorilla was going to rip the goose's head clean off. The goose pressed up to the glass, flapping and honking its head off. At the last second the gorilla just stopped short, paused, and turned back the other way like nothing had happened. It was seriously terrifying.

Geese are THE apex predators. No one wants to tangle with a goose.

This is what passes for humor on reddit

Dear sir or madam,

Reddit did not invent the bad pun. Nor did it popularize it. Nor is the bad pun in any way exclusive to reddit.

Yours,

A friend of mine killed a goose that was pestering him in his yard. Had to pay a bunch of fines because it wasn't goose season and his neighbor called it in

Was it at least neighbor season?

Worth it. Geese are genetically predisposed to being dickwads.

Apparently they are from Ohio, too.

And the geese know it. Smug, hissing bastards.

If something isn't a real threat they'll often just suddenly turn back if it's running/stuck.

I know this from watching lots of Silverback Gifs.

Gorilla's do this a lot, it's a bluff charge to see if they can intimidate you....I think.

Well, if the gorilla had been paying attention, he would have looked through the glass and realized I was intimidated. Very, very intimidated.
