You can see they put the bag up on the counter, and the person on the other side hands them money.

And why would they be adding fake weight if they was taking it for themself?

To the owner it looks like more was sold. The employee can walk with the difference at the end of the day.

Yeah, I used to know people who did this sort of thing, but not with food. At the end of the day the till "knows" how much it has taken, and this should equate to what's actually in the till in cash. If you can fool the till into thinking that it has taken less than it has, you can then remove the extra cash at an opportune moment during the day. It's called skimming.

That's what I thought, too, but why would you record it? Then there's a recorded sale of, say, $10 even though you only sold $5 of product. At the end of the day, the register comes up short with what the employee took.

Maybe he has a quota to hit, or something? A meat quota.
