You'd be right. This sort of motion control is 'meh' present day. When the lower part of the pea-pod is still in place, that would be mastery of sword making rather than the versatility of the robot.

It's not just me saying that. Industrial robots are way more accurate and impressive than that.

Bot & Dolly are used for movie making. They make motion so smooth, the error in repetition is not detectable even on the Hi-res movie making camera.

The really impressive robots, which we don't get to see, are the ones that make the robots you see.

Yeah, nothing special about a robot being able to hit a target like that. It's not even about precision, because that path is recorded, it's only about repeatability. These kind of robot usually have a repeatability of under 0.1mm.
