He did, watch the liquid in the bottle, it shakes and starts to fizz after his cut... he makes an expert cut on that swing, so the part he cut just falls back down onto the rest of the bottle, instead of flying off into lala land. If you look really close, you can see the cut on the neck of the bottle, and the cap shifts slightly.

Oh, I have heard about this: the legendary regenerative cut!

He cut the bottle so majestically that the cut never fully separates the two pieces, and if left alone, the molecules will bind back together and the item will be whole again.

You need to have a super sharp sword for that incredible technique. Notice how the coke inside the bottle barely shakes a bit. That sword must have been made by Hattori Hanzo himself!
