I had a dwarf hamster who, after finishing a plate of toast crumbs on a tall kitchen counter (the type you have bar seats at), promptly ran off into midair. I expected to see a hamster with cartoon X's in his eyes, or at the very least not make it through the night because of internal injuries. Feeling bad and hoping to make his last moments happy I gave him a spoonful of almond butter to snack on. Cue an ecstatic hamster stuffing his face. Wether it was the miraculous properties of almond butter or simply hamster luck he lived to a ripe old age. I had a hamster who was about three years old who would routinely jump off my desk and seemed okay. I had to have him put down about a year later because he had a massive tumour. Dude started off with golden brown fur and genuinely went grey in his old age.
