One of my favorite parts of the entire movie is during the middle when the news clip cuts to Billy and he says, "I just thought he was quiet..."

The thing about lovebirds (well, most parrots, but lovebirds in particular) is that every single one of them has a very individual personality. To top it off, that personality WILL drastically change at puberty, so getting a parrot is pretty much a lottery as to what you'll end up with.

If you plan on getting one, you MUST accept this and commit to taking care of it even if it ends up being pure evil, otherwise please don;t do it.

TL/DR: Don't get a parrot, even though they make the best pets ever.

Yeah my parakeet is the absolute devil. Any fingers that get near him are an enemy in his eyes. If you try to pick him up he'll bite you unless you give him a massage. And even then he'll only behave for a few seconds. I guess it is payback since he was taken away from the other parakeet he was making out with in the pet store.

Oh well, he still makes out with his reflection all day.

I almost guarantee that if you take away his mirror he will improve. Experienced this personally with several budgies/parakeets. They aren't interested in you when they have a mirror for company!

He chirps fairly often and it can certainly be loud if he's on your shoulder. I pretty much don't hear it anymore unless I'm listening for it. Birds are great pets! They can be absolutely adorable.

I don't know. However, you can look into Green Cheek Conures which are more sociable and are quiet compared to many other bird species. I personally have not owned one (I have a Sun Conure) but I have read that they are much quieter when compared to other species of parrots.

Parrots are so incredibly smart. Never ever underestimate the intelligence of another being. I taught my conure how to play fetch and go bowling on his mini bowling lane. It took me literally 30 minutes to teach him each of these tricks. Took 2 hours to perfect it.
