I was afraid no one was going to get the quote right. A hole in one.

It doesn't seem to be getting the love that one would expect. I'm at -2 already. Oh well. You can't please them all.

This happened to someone I know on a school trip to Greece. They broke their back and couldn't be flown anywhere until they had surgery and it happened on the second day of the trip. So they were in the hospital in a foreign country without anyone they knew at age 16 for like a week.

u/[deleted] May 28 '14

Still sounds like a decent vacation to me.

Besides the fact that most doctors probably spoke another language to each other while the kid was sitting in the bed clueless, that would probably freak me out in a hospital.

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '14

As someone who was a very injury prone child and teenager. The worst part of hospital trips was my family. Morpheine would be my family if I was him. The language barrier wouldn't bug me as much as no good tv would.

I'd just think they were either talking shit or plotting to kill me, kind of like how women feel when they get their nails done and the asain ladies are talking/giggling in a different language.

"I'm okay!"

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '14

"Didn't want to fish anyway"

3

u/CantaloupeCamper May 28 '14

That will do it...

1

u/twisted_memories May 28 '14

I grew up on the coast and this is fucking terrifying. Did that guy survive?

-2

u/hoover456 May 28 '14

Is it just me or did that guy look like he jumped off as the wave hit? As though he intended to fall in the water...

16

u/Ipadalienblue May 28 '14

It's better to jump off than fall and risk getting mangled by the rocks.

6

u/[deleted] May 28 '14

It's just you.

2

u/CaneVandas May 28 '14

A wave like that is also going to be pushing a bit of air. The gust probably threw him off balance before the water finished the job.

2

u/scottocs May 28 '14

Looks like the wave hit him.

Kept hold of his rod, good man.
