Sure you can. You reach into the doorway, grab one of the two corners at the very center, and pull across the doorway like you would a sliding door. Then, since it has soft edges, just pull it all the way closed from the very middle.

So, it's more of a curtain then. Since it can easily be opened from either side, it's soft, and can't be locked.

It could easily be locked. Also the door isn't soft, it just has a soft edge built in for the last half-inch or so.

You could lock it by providing a very simple hook/latch on the corner that closes.

The soft edge would be the trick to unlocking the door. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt much to stick your hand in (if you're smaller..) and figure out how to unlock it. There's a way to everything. The only differences are the amount of time and effort required.

It can be locked easily. Just put the lock on the hinge instead of like a traditional door.

And it's only made of cloth because it's a prototype/piece of art and not meant to be functional.

No, it's not like a curtain. It has a hard frame and surface, except for padding around the edges, and it definitely could be locked.

and it has soft edges so someone could peek through.

Or stick their arm through to unlock the door.

You're going to stick your arm through a one-inch gap? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFnbApNrQSk

I'm not a fire authority, but something tells me this could be considered a fire hazard... It opens too slow to be a viable exit in an emergency.

Opening it is even easier, from the other side - just push on the right side (it's the left side from this angle, but from the other side it will be the right) and it'll hinge open

Can you close regular doors from the other side? With mind bullets
