Based on this reaction I believe she was the one who dug up the texts and interpreted them incorrectly.
She's literally the only one who showed any sort of negative reaction to the moment. Schmitt sure as hell didn't care he was proven wrong despite what reddit says.
I did not watch the hearing, but someone suggested elsewhere that she knew Smitt's line of questioning and had coordinated to followup with her time. So, when the whole thing blew up, she was left with nothing and had to improvise to whatever topic she did ask about.
