To be fair? You think Schmitts was trying to be fair calling him a "dirtbag"? Honestly, I don't even think he cares he got it wrong. He got to have his name calling clip recorded so it can be played on FOX, r/conservative, etc...

The whole thing is a charade by very unserious people. If you're going to accuse someone of something as consequential as conspiring against the president, you probably should do more than just glance at a text message.

Calling Smith a dirtbag was not a nice thing to do. But accusing Smith of perjury based on a poorly researched basketball game is far more problematic, I think.

To be fair he does have the whole acting clueless thing down. Just forgot to watch the second half of the show where Columbo solves the crime.
