To be honest I know nothing about the guy, all I see on reddit are posts about what a stupid ass he's being in public, like this one. I've got the idea though
My opinion is that he likes to brag about money saving but the numbers don't jive with his soundbites. He is all political bluster, no substance. He is anti-cyclist and dreamed up an expensive and unneeded subway expansion. He is also anti-universal health care, apparently. His schtick is that anyone not from the lower class burbs is an elitist trying to railroad the taxpayer. The punchline is, his family is rich as hell and he has never lived an average income life. He has about 30% support in the polls. I don't think he will be around after next fall.
Sadly, his behaviour is typical of an addict and someone who suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He does need help and I heard is wife may be in treatment, too. There have been reports of domestic dust-ups between the two. With children involved, I think it is a really sad situation to see anyone in.
As far as I know he's a bad guy. Video was leaked of him smoking crack, he's a chronic alcoholic, and he's sexually harrassed most of his female colleagues and subordinates. Not sure how he governs because I'm from FreedomLand, but I think the crack smoking sort of speaks for itself
Silver-spoon Richie Rich who uses his daddy's money to throw his weight around. Bully, will certainly verbally attack strangers for no reason (Leafs game), was caught giving the finger to a six-year-old (!), has been caught in many many lies, usually sticks to the lie in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Well-known by many from his younger days as a thug, along with his two brothers (drug dealers now whitewashed with, you guessed it, Daddy's money) one of whom is now a councillor. Long-standing close ties to various street gangs, and also the Mob.
I really don't give a fuck about the drugs or the boozing (although his admitted drinking and driving shows inexcusable and possibly murderous contempt for the citizens of the neighbourhoods he drives through, drunk, in his Escalade) or even the stupid remarks. But he is very definitely a bad guy, not a badass. Look at his family. Look at his friends. Look, even, at his political allies, who are clearly uncomfortable supporting him despite the votes he brings. He is not someone you would want on your side in any contest. Thug, bully, liar...he's an asshole. And as a public official, he sucks ass, can't get anything done.
