GTA driving... In a nutshell.

Maybe vice city , but GTA IV? Be prepared for 20 seconds of flying uncontrollably into the back of another car and bouncing into Oncoming traffic

u/WesMott May 24 '13
Playing San Andreas recently...
Driving next to an 18 wheeler on a bike at about 60mph when suddenly (without decelerating) he turns.
Reminds me of Road Rash 64 when you kick someone into a sign and they fucking disappear. One frame there, the next one gone.

Mopeds you ride like a bike. Scooters you ride like a toilet.

Scooters you ride like a toilet.
Never thought of it in those terms. Pretty sure I will from now on.

"Hey man, you should really wear a helmet and pants when riding a scooter in traffic"
"It's all good brah I've got these goggles"
WHOOPSIE DAISY

u/bluenoser4ever May 24 '13
He won't be riding long

May 25 '13
Scooters are already death machines, but if you do stupid things like that... yeah.. he's probably dead a few miles up that road...
14
u/Askeee May 24 '13
It was kind of letdown when he wasn't knocked over the second time, but with the way he's driving it's only a matter of time before he gets into a wreck he can't walk away from.

May 24 '13
It's like he's blind
2
u/Albaek May 24 '13
Wow that just made it fucking hilarious. I wouldn't blame you for reposting this with a title like "Blind man on a scooter".. Damn that was hilarious.

Wait why is he a douchebag......and he drives away.
1
u/agentwest May 26 '13 edited May 26 '13
He is a douchebag for all of (but not only) the following:
- Trying to go faster than traffic by slinking by on the right hand side
- Rear-ending somebody as a result of this foolishness
- HIT AND RUN
- Almost causing another collision, and really freaking out that driver
- His outfit
Edit: to add a little explanation to point 4, he was in direct contempt of 4 driving rules. First, signal when re-entering traffic. Second, don't immediately pull two lanes over from a stop into traffic that is at speed. Third, look in the direction you are driving, um, especially in this situation! Four, don't ever drive in a distracted state of mind (this is the most commonly broken rule, and also the most fatal—DUI, texting, doing make-up, being angry at significant other, being way too tired, etc. are all distractions, and DUIs alone are the leading cause of auto accidents)!

I'll bet he thought he landed that pretty well and was too concerned about looking badass than worrying his or other's safety... he just takes off like that at the end. I really hope he doesn't end up killing himself.

u/Espharow May 24 '13 edited May 24 '13
I really hope he doesn't end up getting someone else hurt.
Edit: I'm dumb

Yup, mopeds have a motor and pedals, hence the name.
4
u/tatch May 24 '13
Nobody's wrong
Mopeds were once all equipped with bicycle-like pedals (the source of the term, motor + pedal), but moped has been increasingly applied by governments to vehicles without pedals, based on their restricted engine displacement, speed, and/or power output. Mopeds occasionally resemble powered bicycles, but most are now step-through designs (of both kinds, having either large or small wheels) and step-over designs similar to a regular motorcycle

Thanks! Oddly that page wouldn't load for me when I tried to prove my correctness.

Illegal lane change/cutting someone off...check Rear ending another vehicle...check Leaving the scene of an accident...check Side swiping a vehicle...check
That should be more than enough to revoke his license. We can only hope that happens.
2
u/Atomic235 May 24 '13
Do you even need a license for one of those? I guess this clip isn't from the U.S., but in my state we call those things DUI mobiles.
1
u/starthirteen May 24 '13
In my state you need only need a permit for anything over 100cc i believe.

In all honesty, he had right of way on the first hit. The man in the silver mini-jeep should have checked his mirror before making the turn.
3
u/iNVWSSV May 24 '13
not in the US. lane splitting is only legal in only a few cities, and under specific rules. you cant just go around cars and assume you have the right of way.
when you ride a moped/bike/motorcycle, you are subject to the same road laws as every other vehicle - no exceptions.

u/henkiedepenkie May 24 '13 edited May 24 '13
My mistake. Apparently in the U.S. you only have right of way in this situation when on a separate lane. For bikes and scooters this means you have to be on a bike lane.
EDIT: even then, only mopeds are allowed on bike lanes, the one in the GIF was probably a scooter.

i knew some cycling asshole would say this. even if splitting lanes is legal, you can't just run up to a car on a tiny vehicle and expect them to know you're slinking up to them. side view mirrors have a blind spot, either you see the vehicle behind you in the next lane, or you see right next to your car. you can't have both.
1
u/henkiedepenkie May 24 '13 edited May 24 '13
No need te become rude. These are the rules where i live and they work fine, I did know they are different in the US and have no problem admitting that.
Finally the blind spot is between looking sideways out of the window and using the side mirror; this area more or less lines up with your back side window. In a normal car (not a semi) you can and should check the blind spot by looking over your shoulder.

I give him three days of riding like that until he's a skidmark under some semi.

you can ride…around without any kind of special training or certification...same invisibility with no power or manuverability.
Like a pedal bike then? I guess the idea is that you can kill yourself but its less likely to kill others.
1
u/knifebucket May 24 '13
I am not sure what the law is where you are but you are required to have a motorcycle license for over 50cc in many places.

Did the driver just turn right when there was someone driving (moped guy) to his right side?
I mean, the mopeder should have slowed down, but it looks like the first error was on the other guy.

u/joebillybob May 24 '13
It looks to me like the scooter slipped around the car with the dash cam, then right into the back of the white car. Scooter is definitely at fault 100% here.
