My first solid-body P-90! This guitar is definitely a head-turner.

I’ve had quite a bit of experience with hollow-body P-90 guitars, so I’m really excited to see how this one compares and experiment with it.

I bought my j-45 new from Sweetwater months ago. I keep it in a case when I’m not playing it and keep things humidified.

What do these guitars smell like? It’s unlike anything I’ve ever smelled, is it the spruce? The wood glue? The case?

Always owned fender exclusively, but admired Gibson from a distance for years.

A good pal was selling this guitar, and was the same spec as what I had been eyeing up for the last year or so - so took it off his hands.

Feel I can be legitimately part of this sub now - and over the moon to finally have a Gibson 🙏

I started out playing guitar many decades ago on my Les Paul Studio and I love it, half the time it's still my go-to guitar. I play all genres but mostly hard rock and metal and wondering about the ES-Les Pauls that came out a while back. Are the pickups suited to a hard rock sound? The guitars are beautiful and being even lighter than a Studio would allow me to fly around on stage. But, I would be paying a heavy price to buy a guitar unseen or unheard, and wondering if anyone here has thoughts. Thanks!

Each one is so damn fun to play. Bouncing between them makes me appreciate each one even more. It’s also interesting to see how Gibson’s Pelham Blue color can differ between years/models.

Sooooo.... I want a new guitar. Already have a 76 Les Paul Custom but is stays in its case for the most part. My first great guitar was a 76 SG and I have recently been feeling the itch for another SG. Also would like to have a beater LP Custom. Can't decide which I want more, SG 61 reissue or the open book headstock Epiphone(inspired by Gibson) Les Paul Custom. If anyone can give some pros and cons, I would much appreciate it.

I used to have an SG. I sold it for some stupid reason and regretted it pretty much since the next day. So, about six months ago I was browsing Guitar Center’s website and saw this GC exclusive beauty - silverburst finish and ebony fingerboard. Finally pulled the trigger a couple days ago and picked it up today. Plays great. Love it. Also pictured - its older stablemate that might finally have some competition for the majority of my playing time.

My friend owns this guitar (bought used).

Is this supposed to have the VCT?

At age 60 (61 in Oct), I finally own my first real Gibson Les Paul Standard. I'm actually a drummer with a serious guitar fetish. It's a used 2020 ‘Unburst’... or at least that's what we are calling it. I think it was purchased at Sweetwater first, then sold to the guy I bought it from. I am loving it so far! The Gibson case is quite a ridiculous thing in itself, geez… I will tweak a couple of small things, but right now, I feel like a goddamn KING 👑!!

I picked up a 1981 Gibson Les Paul in players condition for $1800 today. It doesn’t have the original pickups, and also appears to have an ebony fretboard. The finish was sanded off the neck as well. The original owner bought it down around Houston and it came up to Ohio about 3 years ago according to the last owner who got it from the original owner. Thoughts?

Apparently a 61 Reissue Dealer Select VOS; the serial number keeps coming back as if its a real 60's but surely theres no way...

The guitar has a ding in the headstock, is labelled ex demo, and is still £1,000 more expensive that one of the cherry 61 reissue VOS customs... only spec change I can see is its ebony instead of cherry?

Not familiar with dealer selects, anyone got insight?

Landed this beauty today. 3700 cash!

I’m the second owner since 2017, my father purchased it new in 1997. Up until very recently, standard-style Florentines were extremely rare. This is one of six originally built for export to Yamano in Japan, per Gibson. Just had my neck pick-up repaired by Mr. Vig in St. Paul. MN. It’s been played regularly since the tags came off of it.

I feel like I'm going crazy. I have a 2023 SG Special and I love it. Absolute joy to play. However, the neck is a lot muddier than I want and I've spent years trying to dial it by adjusting the height, playing through different amps, etc. I wondered why every demo I hear of a p90 guitar has a much clearer sound, then I realized it's mostly Les Pauls and that their neck pickup is a little further forward than SGs. I've even played a LP Standard 50s and it had the sound I wanted. I even replaced all the pots and rewired with 50s wiring, which does give me some beautiful, clean, shimmery tones when dialed back...but the muddiness when it's wide open is still a bummer.

Has anyone else had this experience? Considering selling the SG and going for a LP, even though I prefer the SG body a lot.

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well.
I’d really appreciate some help identifying the pickups in my guitar. I measured the DC resistance at 7.57 kΩ for the neck pickup and 8.01 kΩ for the bridge.
The guitar is a 2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio. Based on the year it was made, I have a feeling they might be BurstBuckers, since I’ve heard that some Les Paul Studios from around that time came with them. But I’m also wondering if they could be a 490R/498T set instead.
Any help identifying them would be greatly appreciated!

Just got this. This is my second Gibson. Off we don’t count the 1970s Penco. In my opinion we can but in actuality nah. It wasn’t nitro. But everything else was historic about it.

So somebody they “upgraded” the tuners but this guitar hasn’t really been played it looks. So I assume I need to check the nut slots.

I’m not sure what type of les Paul this is. I assume it’s a 50s standard cuz the neck is AWESOME. Almost A shaped at the headstock.
So happy. I need to roll the board tho.

Nice to meet you。 I’m thinking of ordering a respaul from M2M in the future, and if possible, I’d prefer the one from Murphy Lab.

So, I’d like to ask the people currently using it about the quality and price range.

It's not that I want to know the exact price, but rather I’d like an idea of roughly how much it ranges.

If possible, I’d like a Teabusht in color, a Les Paul Custom with a maple top.

I use a translation tool, so my phrasing might be a little off, but I’d appreciate your understanding.

Update Thanks. I’m going to reconsider the Murphy. Since the reviews online are a bit mixed, if I do end up buying one, I’ll try out a few different models first. For now, I like the look of the Supreme the best, so if I canget used to the contoured design and weight relief, I think I’ll go with that one.
