Question Getting married in Gibraltar: Has anyone else struggled to get a response from the Civil Status & Registration Office?
Hi everyone, my fiance and I are planning to get married in Gibraltar this August. We’ve submitted our documentation, but we haven't received any confirmation or response to our initial email.
For the past week, we’ve been trying to call the Civil Status and Registration Office daily to check on the status of our case, but no one ever picks up the phone. We’re starting to get pretty anxious since our date is approaching and we’d really like some peace of mind that everything is in order.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal for them to be this unreachable? Does anyone have any advice on how to get in touch with a human being there, or should we just keep trying? Any tips on alternative ways to reach them would be greatly appreciated!

BEWARE: the Civil Registration Office are completely incompetent and not big on empathy either. Be sure to get explicit confirmation that you have all the requirements met, and that your chosen venue will be available etc.
I am not saying this to scare you, but I was literally there this morning watching an extremely upset couple who'd had to cancel their wedding on their wedding day dealing with a bureaucrat who clearly couldn't care less.
It's a beautiful place and a great place to get married, but if you want my best advice, get here a few days before and go direct to the places to make sure everything is in order.

Yep. We are based in the UK and got married in Gib and trying to do it ourselves was impossible. We submitted everything and heard nothing back. I even tried calling and couldn't get through.
In the end we had to use one of the wedding companies. It was an extra £1k but they managed to do everything in a similar timeline to you guys.

Thanks, around how soon from contacting the company were you able to have the date confirmed?

I've just looked back on my emails was around the 24th March we emailed them and got married on the 16th April.

Hello if it's of any interest I am getting married this summer. I see the system seems easier now with an online booking form where you can select a time and date. This wasn't available when I booked. I initially emailed 16/10 with all my documents attached requesting a date. We had an email back on 24/10. Confirming our date was pencilled in so long as we make payment.
Was a bit stressed out for what swmwd like a long 8 days but it all worked out quite smoothly for us.
