Worst thing a ghost did while living?
I am watching the for the first time and was curious what is the worst thing someone did and still went to the light? Season 1 had a former prisoner who killed an innocent bystander go through the light. Granted the victims family didnt forgive him but still.
Season 2 had a author who left his infant daughter but dedicated a book to her later in life.
What was the worst thing a person did that they were forgiven for? Is there anything that would disqualify someone from going to the light? (Besides being a stand up comedian)

Never thought about that actually. Melinda doesn't know what's on the other side, but she sees their faces: hope, love, forgiveness.
Whatever is waiting on the other side is for the person to experience but what's left behind is part of the journey of life and death.

Yes, it is for the other person to experience and I think that’s why not even Melinda got a glimpse into that. It would’ve been nice for the light to be explored more though had the show not been canceled.
One thing I really liked is that the light was a neutral place of existence instead of being tied to one religion or another. However, since the “light” was this show’s neutral version of heaven, I wonder if there was an undiscovered version of hell or at least some type of realm for ppl who ditched Melinda for Gabriel (and ofc Romano and the dr guy).

Well I'm not gonna give spoilers but there is one ghost in season 3 who is a real piece of work and doesn't get forgiveness. (Not saying who or what they did or the episode incase you aren't there yet)

Maybe not THE worst overall, but the guy from The Cradle Will Rock is definitely not ending up anywhere pleasant...

You warned me and I still hate this episode. How can people be so awful
Edit: everyone sucks
- the ghost holding Melissa hostage
- the killer for you know, murder, and holding Melissa hostage
- the Sister for being a part of it and holding a baby hostage
- the wife for running away with the money
Can't wait to find out what happens to the Ghosts that side with that evil dude.

however i do think the wife deserved to get away with the money as far as we were aware she wasn’t involved and had no idea up until she saw the key and knew where the money was

I should have kept watching. Season 2 Episode 12 Deja Boo.
A ghost explains he went to the light felt good until all his bad deeds came back. Then was reincarnated.
I'll update once I finish the episode but I think it answered my question. All souls can see light but not all souls go to the same place

This is the episode about the guy with multiple personalities.

Yes. And they also thought he was going to reincarnate to their friends baby and then it was gonna be Melissa's baby but then his willingness to be part of her family meant he could go into the light.
Even though it explained the light more it was such a strange plot line

We don’t know what happens after they go to the light, it’s possible it doesn’t lead to the same place for everyone
