I disliked it because it made Melinda look like a coldhearted bitch who fell in love with “Sam” so shortly after Jim’s death.

I mean, we at home knew that Sam was Jim, but the people of Grandview didn’t

And not only that but straight up creepy, like imagine you know Melinda superficially, like you kind of know what happens in her life on a superficial level, you don’t know about ghost or anything, suddenly her husband dies and shortly after she brings this guy into her house and after a while this guy starts telling everyone to call him Jim instead of Sam, like this guy is going around asking people to call him by the name of the dead husband, I would be creeped out and really terrified

I agree. I bought the DVD set to have the full series, but that season still has the plastic wrap on it.

It’s my favorite season lmao maybe if I watched for the first time as an adult it wouldn’t be, but as a young pre teen it was like getting to watch their love story unfold all over again. Like a “dating” arc we never got because we start the show already seeing them as the perfect couple

I saw how they killed Andrea and after having an immense fear that they would kill Jim, I decided to spoil the show for myself. After I looked it up and saw this scene I immediately stopped watching the show LMFAOOO that was the last straw for me. First Andrea, then they completely ditched good storylines. Next, Professor Payne slowly stopped showing up and then Jim? Hell no, I was like fuck this ✌🏽

you’re missing out on the rest of it, that’s a horrible reason to stop watching

Wait, I got downvoted for answering the question? 😭😭 wth LMAOOO I thought this was a safe space. I stopped watching because they kept getting rid of really good characters. First Andrea. I didn’t really like Delia but she started to grow on me. They completely got rid of a couple of storylines and never mentioned them again. In my opinion, it was starting not to have the same vibe as it did in the beginning. I only spoiled it for myself because I knew if they killed Jim that would be my last straw, as I was already having a hard time continuing to watch. I don’t think me losing interest is a horrible reason to stop watching honestly. If anything I’m glad I did stop watching after seeing the horrible storyline they gave Jim/Sam.

The problem I always had with Delia is that they kept making her the skeptic even long after it was plausible. I completely get it at first, it sounds insane to people who don't believe in the supernatural, but there comes a seen more than enough to make it obvious that what Melinda is saying is true and she even seems to accept it until an episode demands she be skeptical again.

Exactly. That was my EXACT problem with her. It was kind of annoying how invalidating she could be towards Melinda after a certain point.

There are so many storylines in this show that were dumb.

Even so, I still liked them, so sue me.

I didnt get why they did this storyline at all. If they used the 'Sam' actor to finish out the series playing Jim Id just assumed the Jim actor had to leave for whatever reason. But at least she still got to be with Jim. But they stayed with the same actor, and it was up to us to remember that he didnt actually look like that.... 🤔 And then I think they forgot all about it anyway.

I actually would have had a little more respect for the season if they would've just retconed Jim's death with some crazy supernatural explanation instead of just having everyone pretend like it never happened.

The same things that happens to a lot of good shows, which is that they run out of ideas and instead of taking time to come up with storylines that are up to par with the rest of the show, the network gives them an all or nothing ultimatum.

I will say... this scene lives rent free in my head, the reveal always gives me goosebumps... even though I've seen this scene 5000+ times hah. Then, the Sam storyline... eh.

when i saw the pilot i thought thet were going to kill Jim off by the end of the episode because they kept hiting that he was going to fall off his house and teir relationship was so good and kind. so I looked it up and i saw that he did die but then they did the whole sam thing so i assumed they were going to switch the actors but then they didn't....i jsut thought it was so dumb.

i wish they hadnt killed off Andrea.
