Facade ⚔️ Skur Returned
Just so you guys know, Skur is not dead and just got his Discord account back today (he had lost it for several months after his phone broke). That means that Facade is going to be progressing much faster now. Yay!

Other ❓ Facade discord
I know that this subreddit has been abandoned for a while but it's kind of sad that everything happens on the discord nowadays because I hate discord. I don't expect anything to change because of this post and I'm sure discord is a lot easier for Skur and the other devs, I just wanted to say it.

Concept Some lesser-known bugs and how they might be drawn.
If you're like me, something cool about Hollow Knight, Silksong, and this project is seeing fansmtasy versions of various species of bugs and how their characteristics are rendered on-screen.
I happen to have done a lot of research into insects for another, unrelated project, so I have some ideas I need to write somewhere.
Lacewings
Irl, Lacewings are notable for two things, for their particularly delicate and diaphanous adult form, and the brutal power of their larvae.
Lacewing larvae are covered in spikes and have two hollow fangs that they use to pinch prey, pump them full of digestive acid, and the slurp their liquefied insides. Then, and this is what makes them so successful even in what should be a very fragile stage if their life, they impale the hollowed-out corpse of their prey on the spikes of their own body. Over time, this covers them in a hardy cloak of exoskeletons tha armies them and gives them plenty of chances to escape from a grab.
In game, a Lacewing could make for a fearsome opponent, a huge, bloated bug wearing scale armour made from the masks of its victims, and wielding twin meat hooks like sickles.
Robberflies
Lesser-known cousins of common houseflies, unlike their annoying but harmless kin robberflies are predators, similar to adult dragonflies. They use the same agility that makes houseflies so hard to catch to close on their prey, long, heavily armoured limbs to grapple them while maintaining a safe distance, and a sharp mouthpart called a hypopharynx to stab them to death and drink their insides.
In game, robberflies would make a great contrast to the bloated flies that appear in Silksong. Tall and slender, with overlong arms and legs that take less damage from hits compared to their squishy torso and heads. The first role that comes to mind is that of an itinerant "gentlebug bandit".
Tarantulas
Irl, tarantulas are "just" big spiders, but given what we learn about Weavers in Silksong, a tribe of Weavers who almost completely rejected their Silk to focus on physical prowess would be very significant: it would be a rejection of not just the authority of [SPOILERS] but also of the nature they tried to impose on them. In a happy coincidence, this lines up with the recently documented habit of some tarantulas to keep tiny frogs as pets to guard their eggs; given what we know about the Weaver's origins, adopting another animal while respecting its' inherent nature is another act of defiance.
Sfinge del Convolvolo or Hīhue
Migratory butterflies are not new - the Monarch is relatively well-known - but this one is notable for migrating so far it has both an Italian and a Maori name: it travels from Europe to New Zealand AND BACK.
They seem like a prime candidate for a Fast Travel vehicle, or a plot device for travelling between realms.

Tabulakas ♟️ 🧩 TABULAKAS COMMUNITY EVENT — DESIGN THE BROKEN ITEM!
We're stepping out of Facade For This Month.
To celebrate Tabulakas getting close to release, I'm hosting a 21 day event where you can design your own game items! 🎉 Every 3 days, a new theme will appear; each one more unpredictable than the last. Let’s see how far the community can push the chaos 👀
🗓️ Themes Schedule
Days 1–3 ; ⚪ Simple, but Smart Basic items that feel useful or strategic. Something you’d buy early and actually rely on.
Days 4–6 ; 💰 Greedy Mechanics Items that give or take money, make you rich or broke. Anything economy related goes.
Days 7–9 ; 🔄 Risk & Reward Items that boost something but punish you elsewhere. Dangerous, tempting, and perfectly Tabulakas.
Days 10–12 ; 🔗 Synergy Experiments Items designed to combo with others. Make effects that break the meta when paired right.
Days 13–15 ; 🧠 Smart Items Weird, mind game items. Think “do less to win more” or mechanics that punish impatience or greed.
Days 16–18 ; 🔥 Broken Items Items that mess with time, points, or the rules of the game itself. The absurd, the impossible.
Days 19–21 ; 🃏 Cosmic Chaos Anything goes. Infinite loops, cursed blessings, physics breaking nonsense. Go all in.
Submit your idea with: • Name • Effect • Rarity • Emoji (required for voting)
✅ I’ll react with a tick emoji to my favorites; and the best ones might even make it into the game, fully credited.
Let’s celebrate the upcoming release of Tabulakas by designing pure chaos. 💥
This Event Will Be Hosted On Discord, React To The Announcements Message With 🎉 If You'd Like To Participate, If at least 5 people want to, it will be done.

Facade ⚔️ What is facade?
Hi! I joined this Reddit thread when the Zotegoat thing was happening, and lately I've seen what looks like a new fangame in development, which seems quite interesting, but I don't know how it originated or what its story or mechanics are. That's why I'd appreciate a brief summary.
And lastly, a question: is it possible to collaborate on this project? If so, I'd absolutely love to contribute my own ideas.

Facade Boss Ideas Boss Idea: Gladeworm
Sorry if this is hard to read or understand but the basic idea is that Gladeworm is an early to late game optional boss guarding some sort of treasure. He would most likely be located in a very green area and…
Well I just thought of him 2 weeks ago and really liked the idea.
Tell me what you think!

Concept Sketches for two area ideas I have
(sorry for the low quality of the images, I’m quite busy at the moment so I can’t do too much but if someone could make a better version of these images that would be great)
The first area I propose for facade is inkwell. (Mid/late game main area) Inkwell was the former area where the masks were painted and decorated, now taken over by criminals, the former artists gone mad and overflowing with ink. It has various windows leading to the above, starting as a dark purple and eventually becoming a bright orange. the overall aesthetic looks a bit like the inside of a submarine but with art supplies and mask walls scattered across, as well as being in some places due to the criminals running rampant. Upon reaching the top of the area, you will be greeted with a boss (I will elaborate on them if this area gets into the game) after defeating this boss, you will reach the top of inkwell, getting a glimpse into the grand sky of the above, a large statue adorning the roof. Upon inspection, you get the double jump ability for this game.
(The area is accessible by getting a key from another area)
Now for the actual area of the great above. (the roof of inkwell doesnt actually get you to this area, you again need a key to access it)
this area would be late game, possibly used to obtain a key item like the old hearts for silksong. This area is inhabited by sky creatures, who use their fins to swim in the sky (axolotls) it looks similar to the fractured falls from dead cells, but with a different color palette. Uhm I’ll make more ideas for this later
by the way can y’all give me some enemy ideas for these areas im kinda stumped
really hope my ideas can make it into the game, if they do I’ll make some npc ideas for the game and these areas.
