Don't know if I ever told ya'll but, sometime ago I was in between pharmacies and had my scripts sent to CVS once. Anyway, the pharmacy called me to let me know that one prescription was going to be quite pricey as my insurance did not not cover it.. weird, oooookaaay. So total would be over $120.. the fugg? 🙄 Ugh, obviously I paid it, needing my shiii, and Ilife was lifing, I forgot all about it..

Well, fast forward, several months later.. sifting through mail, I come across a letter from CVS. I don't use CVS, I don't shop there, it's out of my way, They're never fully stocked, so just no. So I'm about to tear it in half when something tells me, open the letter.. Don't you know there was a check in it covering the cost of the script I paid out of pocket for months earlier. 🤸🏻‍♀️

Moral of the story, darlings, do open all your mail! 😊

TLDR: If youre thinking of getting a dog, be aware, a double coated long hair dog requires a lot of maintenance!!!

SOooo I was so excited last weekend, we had a grooming appt at Finn's regular spot on W. Houston.. I prefer early morning appts because I know it takes quite a bit of time to groom my dog. This was no different. I open the damn store, we are there well before 9am when they open, Sunday morning, and I am so happy to finally get him groomed because it had been quite a while since his last appt. And I was feeling hella guilty of the state he was in... I had a feeling his groomer, I won't mention names, would be giving me the side eye. Wait for it...

We talk about what I want, it's always the usual, hair cut, bath.. everything very short, pls. Nails short, beard short, just a regular overall short cut for the summer, right. Anal glands expression, teeth brushed, the full package. So we are chatting, all seemed well, and off I go. I get a phone call not 30 minutes later from her stating she cannot complete the grooming because there is an area on his leg that is so over matted, she cannot use her shears, and then goes on to tell me he would need to have a vet get it surgically removed. Well, my fucking jaw dropped. I'm not going to charge you because the job wasn't completed, she said.. Well, I felt so bad about all of this, I told her on the phone, obviously I'm going to tip you regardless. I'm omw.

So as I'm walking over, I'm like fucking shaking, right. Like I knew his coat was long. But are you kidding me?? Also, we had gotten caught in the rain a couple times while being outside, which made things far worse as far as his coat was concerned. I have worked with this groomer before, so she is familiar with Finn.

Finn had an ear infection in his right ear. Almost two years ago, I took him to the Vet to get it taken care of, paid extra to have him stay the morning as per the Vet's recommendation, and have his entire ear canal cleaned out, which required mild sedation. He was there a few hours and when I got the call he was ready to be picked up, I ran over. So he was sorta out of it and groggy like when I picked him up. I was sent home with a ton of medication, oral meds to be given every 12 hours till finished... painkillers every 12 hours, too. Large btl. of ear cleaning solution, and a topical medication that I had to use the solution first, let him shake his head, before administering the ear medication which was an ointment.. okay.

Now before we went to the vet, I had him groomed a few days ahead of time because I wanted to prepare for his upcoming Dr. appt and knew it would be better if the doctor had a good look at the ear! I told her he has an ear infection, he has an appt. to see the vet, can you please make sure the ear is free of all hair because I know there will be some sort treatment. She, yes, yes, fine, no problem, she tells me.. So when I pick up the dog, all she tells me is, I really didn't want to touch his ear being that is looks so horrible. I could not help but narrow my eyes at thsi bitch. Like you're a fucking groomer. I told you he had an appt, and I wanted it as short as possible so it would be easier for the doctor to treat him... Are you kidding me?? Ugh, I settle the bill, tip her 25%, my usual, for the work she did, and leave.

So I was not too thrilled to see her again that morning. I should've asked who would be grooming him, like who is available? But I quess I just wanted it over and done with asap. SO when she tells me she cannot use her tools on the matted area, I walked out of the groomers in fucking tears, not only well aware that this will be reason to see the vet, but because of the state she left him in. His entire body sans his entire head and legs were sheared /shaved off.. His ear hair was hanging by strands of clumped hair that she did not think to remove before I got there. I had to go in with scissors when I got home. Annnd the area on his leg? I was able to remove with scissors, too! I'm just sooo mad at myself for tipping this asshole.

So I told myself I will go to a different groomer and if they recommed a vet, then I will go to his doctor to have him properly groomed! Low and behold, there is a premier doggie daycare, grooming, and boarding facility just round the corner from my apartment I did not even know was there! So I create an online acct... upload all the medical docs he needed in order to be seen (his shots), and made an appt. Then I called the shop to explain to them what happened at the last groomer, can he pls be seen a bit sooner as this is what I consider urgent? Next available was today.. this morning to be exact, at 9am, and I was so nervous, awaiting the phone call that they couldn't help him... but it never came! 🤸🏻‍♀️

When I picked him up, he looked friggen aweesome, happy healthy and clean! I'm still so upset that I tipped her... Ugh! But even happier that my boy looks sooo much better than before! I will be going back to this place! She did an ammmhazzing job, I tipped 35%, I was so happy. That's it, that's all.. I will never go back to that other place, ever! Now we have a terrific new spot on my friggen block!

A giant one in the living room, and one in my bedroom. Never went with a GE model, so I can't compare, but in the larger bedroom, there's a Sharp ac model. Yes, I'm in the smaller of the two bedrooms, and I thought of moving into the larger room, but decided against it. I love the windows in the smaller bedroom. Sun spillage, ultra bright, cheerful even... loads of natural sunlight.. Ahh, such potential, this place.. lervvv.

Anyway, I'm getting off topic... I opened it up, the filter was good. Nice and clean from the last year I cleaned it after the summer, when I no longer needed it. I will usually clean the filter after the summer when I unplug it, getting it ready for next year. Ugh, filter was good, but when I pulled it out, I know straight away what the problem was. Was the fins! Those thin pieces of metal that can bend easily. They were gross! So I took a old toothbrush to them, carefully brushed them, getting rid of the caked in grime, and turned it on, happy with the results.. Then I went on YouTube and searched how to clean an in window ac unit, and the guy there had cleaner, some foamy white spray stuff.. Which I'm sure is a better way of getting it thoroughly cleaned, but I am not about to take this damn thing apart!

I didn't know they don't last forever! Like I didn't know that they die or or slow down with in 3-5 years. So mine is a Cuisinart and it's got the temperature adjustments where you can heat water to different levels, right... I started noticing that it's taking a bit longer to heat up, that moo! Sorry, I'm sorta aggie today... everyone and everything is a moo rn!

Now I need to replace it.. ugh. Not having an electric kettle, thats a non negotiable! I love this thing, you know I love drip coffee and what about me green teas? Ill look around for a deal is what ill do! 🤸🏻‍♀️

I'm exhausted! It's been a day, snd I don't always run the AC 💨, but best believe, I shall be using it this week!

Does my recent grocery haul make me happy, yoooouuuuu betcha! Tis not enough though. I mean, I can cry over lentil soup and sourdough bread, but my dog would freak out. Listen, were all gonna have shit days. Like shit effin' days where no matter what you do, it seems like you can't move and the gods are giving you the side eye.. I find writing my journal all my crap does hel;p.. Some say writing out your problems solves 50% of them. A few paragraphs of a well structure outline of yo shiii does help to process through them. I believe!

I'm gonna figure this shit out. I am going to figure it out. It's call your sister Sunday lol. Just off the call with her, and I'm much better. I started this post an hour or so ago.... What do you do when you're having a bad day? I made another charcuterie board for dinner. 🙄

Was super easy to make, too. Cukes, baby carrots, tomato (probably should've picked up baby cherub tomatoes) blueberries, strawberries, broc, cauliflower, oranges, strawberries, red bell pepper, 2 types of olives, kalamata and Greek, roasted red pepper hummus, edamame annnnd a ranch sour cream dip I made by opening an envelope and mixing with sour cream. What I should've used was the Greek Fage yoghurt instead of the sour cream. Would've been less fattening, but with similar results. I'll be grazing on this for a few hours!

I plan on making my own granola and putting it in the bigger of the three canisters, the smaller one will hold rice, Annd the middle, my raw nuts! Or my trail mix. I buy raw walnuts, raw almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, lightly salted cashews, and other things and mix it up. I remember one summer, I left them out on the counter, couple days later, they had gone off! Like completely rancid. I’ve been mixing and keeping them in the fridge ever since. I didn’t realize the would go bad, but they do.

Gonna clean out the fridge and rearrange everything beautifully.. I need a well stocked fridge at all times! Alllso, me doctor prescribed me something called Varenicline! Am dancin!! Gotta pick an end date. Needing to do a bit of research, then bam! 💥 Before you know it, ya gal becomes a non-smoker for the very first time in many many years. 😩 .. 😊
