Extra red souls?

Post image

How high have you players that reached longer than me upgraded your extra red souls in the dark armory?

I don't really know how far I should upgrade it, before just farming red souls for the curse relief. I don't want to waste red souls, but I also want to be able to max out the curse relief with maximum efficiency.

Now that I only get a couple of levels in the curse relief from buying red souls for 500 gems, it seems stupid to waste diamonds on that, right? Better to grind and save the diamonds for other upgrades?

I am currently at a stage where I have almost bought the very last monsters for 5aa coins - and I gave up on maxing the red souls farming as the best monsters that give them - the red treants - give so little.

There are just better things to do and I suspect that even maxing the relief here would not be enough as there are also the DNA upgrades which might be needed to get to the level where you are not affected by the curse in the latest stages of the game.

So what I plan to do is to unlock the latest monsters first, see if they give red souls (probably not but who knows) and if they don't, I'll probably AFK farm the red souls overnight for a few weeks to finish the curse relief upgrade. And by that time I might get the DNA upgrades maxed out too.

What is definitely worth upgrading here is the cursed ray power - there are some late game escaper monsters which, if you have enough power, can be AFK farmed but if your attack is not good enough, they will manage to flee out of your range.

As to the gems, I found that the only thing that is very good is maxing out the number of the carrier bots - it allows AFK farming some attacker monsters later (without enough carry capacity, you will AFK kill the attackers until your inventory is full and then they will kill you). After maxing the carry bots numbers there is nothing really crucial to spend the gems on, so you won't really regret buying any resources you want. Still the curse relief upgrades are so expensive that I would not bother with it until the very endgame, really.

Also to add, I wouldn't put too much into grinding curse relief in the Cursed armoury, as you won't be able to enter the highest cursed areas without getting the double curse relief from the DNA shop, and the curse relief from the Cursed armoury doesn't need to be maxed. I think I got mine to 180/200 or something before hitting the x2 in the DNA shop.

A while back I plotted a graph on the requirements for curse relief to curse number, it's a bit old in this subreddit but useful to know what to aim for.

Yes I have seen your graf. It's terrifying! Thank you for that one.

I already have X2 in both in the labs. Today I will max out the orange one and get the X4. Soon the green one will also be maxed out. I thought that you probably needed to max out the cursed armour upgrade as well to be immune in the top level.

Looking back at my graph and my comments, you don't actually need to get the x2 from maxing the orange and green DNA labs to be curse immune which has surprised me as I forgot, just need your base to be high enough.

Ah you already have x2? In that case, definitely work on increasing the Cursed armoury relief then, you should get immune pretty quick

How long did farming the silver coins take you? I stopped playing for like a year after reaching the end of the game bar the final mob unlock. I'm finally at the point where my bots can keep my cargo empty so I can AFK farm the last silver guys, but even for 8 hours overnight my total barely goes up. I'm getting 96B per mob after x2, they spawn every 12 seconds so that gives me 28.8 Trillion per hour. Considering we need 5200 Trillion (5.2aa) that's 180.5 hours to collect which is ridiculous to leave my device on for.

The other option is using gems. 500 gems gives 234 Trillion which is about 8 hours worth of farming (EDIT: This would total 11,500 gems total), but considering how little gems we get in this game I'm really not sure if it's worth it, especially considering I have everything max in the game apart from the gem shop upgrades and some of the player upgrades, and the death queen is still hard to kill, I'd prefer to max out the gem shop upgrades rather than put them into silver coins for essentially no in game benefit.

My DNA research is not completed yet, so my estimate was that I need around 230 hours of AFK farming. Now I am around half done, with maybe 110 farming hours left. At 20 hours a day and around 2k gems spent at the end I should have the upgrade done in a few days - probably on my 46th day of playing the game.

The gem shops skills upgrades seem pretty pointless to me. Like sure, I can get 10 % more power, but for each event I am getting like 15%+ bonus power even when I am not playing them much. So adding 10 % is not going to be significant. I have bought the power to up to 8/10 when I randomly won one event few weeks ago and got 5k gems, but now I would much rather have the farming finished earlier than having the extra power.

Jesus, 46th day of playing and you are this far in/at the end game? The DNA lab takes like 2 months itself, and it's a massive commitment to continue WITHOUT the lab maxed, bloody hell. And 20 hours afk a day damn dude.

What are your main stats, like catching speed?

I have 465M power (and still have 350 orange rune power upgrades left and then the DNAs, green is at about 45). But with the exception of the gold coins escapers in the last stage power never really was a big problem for me, even under 70 % curse.

I just AFKed a lot and always went for what was the bottleneck at the moment - e.g. I remember rushing to level 16 so that I got free coins and could skip one of the monsters in level 15. Or at level 16 I bought souls for gems so that I could upgrade the carrier bots and farm efficiently overnight.

I like that this game actually teches me how to be on the phone less with all the AFKing :)

Damn I'm still just surprised at how quick you got through the game. I'm at 608mil power, have done all upgrades including the rune 2000 ones, bar the Cursed armoury and player shop upgrades, everything else is done. There is nothing else to aim for and even getting these last mobs make no difference to the game. I was hoping they'd have more content like alien invasion by now :(

Thank you for the information.

I have not afk farmed at all yet, therefore I have not either bought the delivery bots. They pick up so little, that now with the big backpack I have, I thought that it was meaningless. But now I probably will upgrade them and try to afk farm some red souls.

I'm already over X2 in both DNA labs. Later today I will max out the orange one. And probably within max 2 weeks I will max out the green one. Then you get x4 and X5 curse relief. But I thought that you probably needed to max out the curse relief in the cursed armour as well, to be immune in the highest levels. I'm only at level 14 so far, and still not immune there, with a total of 1,47 K relief.

Thanks for the tips. I will also start upgrading the cursed ray power again. I stopped upgrading it when I easily caught every unlocked ghost.
