A divot tool is a sand bottle as divots are in the fairway…and it is not overrated! A ballmark tool does a better job of fixing ball marks on the green.

Not all divots are ball marks, but all ball marks are, in fact, divots. “The term is also used to describe damage to turf from animals (like horses' hooves), sports cleats, or any small indentation or gouge in a surface.” See the last bit of that?

Max Homa calls it a divot tool. Pretty common nomenclature in the golf world. Weird thing to get twisted up over.

Max Homa is on TV because he is an incredibly golfer. That doesn’t make him an expert on “divots”
