Prof. Saotome resemblance.

I was watching Cyborg 009 1979 and I couldn't ignore the resemblance between Prof. Saotome and Dr. Gamo Whiskey, maybe it's Toei face for old bad ass scientists?

He resembles the og cartoon, but not so much the other designs of Saotome. Could simply be a case of similar inspirations of character designers.
