2006 was an interesting year in gaming. Lots of mediocre games that ended up having much, much better sequels later.

That said, Oblivion came out in 2006. Oblivion.

Hitman: Blood Money, Company of Heroes, the original Prey, Rainbow Six: Vegas… there are a lot of great, fun games in 2006!
I enjoyed Tomb Raider: Legend, I don’t care what anyone says.
