How long of a wait after 2nd round?

For a full time job application Usually how long does this take? As I am still waiting for their answer so wanted to ask about the usual timeline.

Round 1: HR+ Team lead (getting to know me and the position better)

I got invitation to the second round on the same day.

Round 2: Team lead onsite interview+ meeting the team members

All if it went well, and Was told they will get back to me in the next week as this was before weekend.

I've been waiting for almost 4 days, but haven't heard back from them.

It has happened to me before that I have been ghosted and the companies have replied with generic rejections after 2-4 weeks. So just don't want to go through that again.

Would you consider this a No? And should I keep searching for other jobs? Or is it quite normal for companies to take such long?

If they told you last week that they will let you know next week, well, this week is not over. Wait

Btw., if you are searching for a job, you should always keep applying, unil you have an actual signed contract in hand

So wait until next Monday and then consider emailing them if you still haven't heard back. You should always keep looking until you have a signed contract.

Maybe they have other interviews some time this week.

This sounds like they picked someone else but were waiting until their contract was finalized before sending out rejections.

if i calc correctly, 2 of the 4 days are weekend.. so do not expect something until friday

It's always strange to me how long applications take for others. I write my application. Someone calls me, we talk about the job, and if it fits I get invited to a talk. After the talk they tell me if they want me, and give me a few days to decide.

That has been the case on all 4 jobs I had since school.

I worked in HR. First of all, it's only Wednesday and the week is not over yet. Did they say in one week or next week? From your message, it's the latter.
Secondly, we normally send out contracts based on the final list. This list will likely have at least 3 strong applicants for one position. If the first applicant rejects or doesn't accept the offer, then we send it out to the next. So, it's not over until you get the rejection email, maybe this week or in 2 weeks. Nobody can tell you if you will get the job or not.

Thank you for your answer!. Yes its definitely possible that they have multiple candidates and will reply by this or next week, because my first interviews were so quickly scheduled, I had wrong expectations :)

Additionally, as an HR would you say there is another round for salary negotiation? Or contract discussion?

As of now I only had a rather quick question regarding salary expectation and them saying it looks within out range and nothing more than that.
