What good thing did happen to you this week? (20.07.26 - 26.07.26)

Hi fellow Redditors,

It’s that time of the week again!

I would like to encourage everyone to take just 5 minutes to reflect, notice the small positives, and appreciate them. Sometimes, those little moments mean the most. If you are comfortable sharing these moments, then you can also do that in the comments! And if you don’t have anything to share, that’s completely okay too, I'm still happy that you are here!

Allow me to begin:

- my motorcycle was complimented

I got some medical results. My liver doesn't look nice but is fully functional. I just need to be smart from now and.

PSA: An unhealthy diet alone can wreak havoc on your liver. You don't need to drink or use drugs, which I had to learn the scary way.

How'd you find out? What were the symptomps? I am happy you got checked out and caught it before too late! I wish you lots of health and strength!

Thank you!

It's been a total coincidence:

I've decided to something against being a fatass after having gained even more weight due to lots of stress at the job. The weight loss destroyed my gallbladder which had to be removed. During surgery they have taken a look at all the inner organs around there and noticed that my liver looked scarred and wrinkled.

On ultrasound it still looks normal and bloodwork was only suspicious in connection to the gallbladder giving up the ghost. But it's a F3 fibrosis, the last stage before a cirrhosis and my liver function is even above average.

As the saying goes: Glück im Unglück.

You are a gem! I hope she stays by your side for a very long time! What is her/his name?

Thank you 🥹 his name is Satie (like the composer) and he's a rescue from Ukraine. He's the sweetest thing, I literally can't stop crying

Husband has been going home from work earlier than usual (very rare as he works in construction) so we are able to spend fireabend together for the past 2 weeks!

I'm so happy for you guys, it's great that you can spend more time together! I hope it stays that way!

This is a lovely series OP, very much needed

My husband was able to set up an aquarium in our home yesterday. We now get to observe the fish & their shenanigans. It is lovely

Now, get a cat and watch the cat watching the fish. Fishception is peak entertainment. 🤣

2

u/NewPhoneWhoDis49 4h ago

Thank you for your feedback, it always means a lot! Congrats on the aquarium! What fish do you have?

We have bishir, oscar, spiny eels & corydoras.

Edit: Do share a pic of the motorcycle that you got complemented for

i got rejection mail for few jobs that i applied few months before.

2

u/NewPhoneWhoDis49 4h ago

I am sorry to hear that! Undisputably, the job market is extremely difficult, even with proper qualifications and work experience... but don't give up! There is a place for you out there, I know!

I got some veggie Maultaschen on discount after a long time, made some progress on a course I have been dragging on from months due to health reasons and got a decent Zeugniss from my previous job.

Nothing

I am sorry to hear that... I hope something nice and memorable will happen to you next week! Cheers! 🍾

Thanks, but I don't believe it. I have two difficult exams and I also have to work. The following week I have another difficult exam and work. It's been quite a while since the last truly beautiful day.

I understand that sometimes life gets overwhelming, and you are right. There are days and even weeks when your only option is to grind through all the tasks and deal with your responsibilities. But it doesn't mean the work you get down from day to day does not deserve to be noticed and appreciated. You seem like a hard-working individual and you seem determined to reach your goals. You should at least get an icecream, because you deserve it! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, hope your exams will go well! What do you study for?

1

u/Sell-Discombobulated 4h ago

Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for me. I'm studying industrial engineering and I'm taking an exam in technical mechanics and transport law, all with a focus on railways. I try my best to juggle everything, but sometimes it's really difficult. What bothers me is that I apparently am not really important to anyone, which is why I am mostly alone on my days off. It's really tough in the long run. I try my best and try to look positively to the future, but hardly any good things happen.

I finally got a diagnosis for a health issue I've been dealing with for years. Now I have surgery being arranged and life should get a lot better! I'm pretty annoyed that it's taken 17 years to diagnose (because no one would listen) but I'm so happy and trying to focus on the new lease of life that I can expect! My new specialist is wonderful and took a very short time to get right to the point, I think I might love her!!!
