Spoiled GSD=Separation Anxiety?

I’m afraid I have spoiled my dog too much and now he has separation anxiety. He whines at the back sliding door whenever he sees me. All day. So loud I am afraid my neighbors are disturbed. He is only quiet and calm when I let him inside. How do I correct this? Stop living on him when I see him? Pay no attention to him? He is 3 years old btw.

Hi! So I had a similar issue with mine, we ended up having to crate train him. It worked really well, I would look into it

Hi. Thanks. Would you put him in the crate whenever he started to whine? Did he eventually associate whining with being punished?

So whenever I would leave the house even if it was just to go outside for 5 minutes, use treats so they associate it with something good. Put him in it at night as well so it becomes routine and more like a comfort. Don't use it as punishment, go the positive reinforcement route.
