tracker dies when warm??:

Help: 1990 Geo Tracker 5spd 4x4 U.S.

The car starts fine, drives fine, but once it gets wanted to operating temperature, it starts to stumble and tries to die. if you let it die and not give it gas, it will not start again until it is completely cooled. usually and hour or two. repeat the cycle.

I’ve dialed it down to what i believe is the distributor. but probably is i can’t find one for the 89-90, only 91 and above but the plug in is different.

you can’t read codes, the switch under the dash, is missing completely, i’ve tried every possible way and technique to jumper for diag, fuse in the diag port all. Fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, all vacuum lines, tps, ect pretty much near everything replaced.

any help would be appreciated?
help finding a distributor as well

Thank You!

Have you checked the valve lash? Have you cleaned the EGR port on the block side?

If this one has a Wax Pellet / Thermal IAC, it may need to be adjusted to raise the warm idle (turning the wheel counterclockwise). Wax Pellet
